Seeing dark as "good" is still dualism, so not what I mean. The trads I'm thinking of mostly go back many centuries. While they sometimes advocate transgression of social norms, this has often been what modern society would think of as "good," such as questioning slavery and caste.
Seems like different understandings of what "enlightenment" entails, probably from differing understandings of reality? A non-dual perspective would understand ultimate reality as good and also bad. But many trads like that also emphasize compassion as the result of the realization of oneness.
"Union" is such a positive way to describe being devoured.
