Watching the Bruins and Sabres game tonight, and I am sad to report that the phrase “lipstick on a pig” comes to mind. Sabres had one shot on goal in the first 20 minutes of play. They have not scored yet this season.

I’ve been recommending Cal Newport’s book Slow Productivity to all my creative friends. He talks about how self-defeating it can be to try to create on someone else’s timeline.

Cal Newport’s book Slow Productivity talked about how important it can be to let creative projects take the time they need to develop (a lesson I’ve long been struggling with).

I wonder how many of us writers tend to think of inspiration as a force or being from outside us, like Kipling’s daemon?
