(The date block includes a newly discovered number, "Two Hundred and Forty-fiftieth". Assuming that's equal to Two Hundred and Ninety, I guess Santos may have to wait forty years before the clemency is effective?)
It's a necessary but unpleasant place to visit because of the people who want to live there.
"underscores safety concerns that Gov. Gavin Newsom voiced before Saturday’s event at Camp Pendleton."

Incredible that according to the NYT today Newsom voiced concerns, whereas a day or two ago the NYT was saying Newsom "traded jabs" with the White House.
You can't arrest me, I'm amerkin.
We should encourage Trump to re-enact this live. I'm sure it's safe to put an untrained octogenarian who doesn't know how to wear a mask in a jet full of faeces with a gold crown loose in the cabin.

The US is a bit more upbeat today than usual.

Those cops need to be charged for tampering with an erection
Caught and released a sacred kingfisher that was trapped in a cafe this morning. Feeling pretty virtuous.
Man running for mayor has not been mayor before. Critics say he should focus on developing a time machine.
"Traded jabs" definitely worth noting in para 1 of a story about reckless endangerment.
I blame spays lasers
...and right after I post that, Bluesky spikes to the highest sentiment all week.

Both Headspace and Project Rockit making the point that if the ban is about getting kids to go outside and socialise in person, a lot of in-person places for young people are taken away now. They're moved on, can't hang around shopping centres etc anymore.

Props to Project Rockit for bringing an actual young person, Caitlin Blanch, to speak to the committee given the policies are about them but mostly excludes them.

True story: I had a field experiment that was just racking up brutal desk rejects from various political science journals so I used the formatting to make a Word doc look like LaTeX and it got accepted on my next try.

I figure the reviewers assumed a dude wrote it.
This is your periodic reminder that you can add coffee stains to your LaTeX documents.
