Can we just spare a thought, too, for the official end of News Corp as a political force. No one outside an aging political class pays any attention to them.
There’ll be a lot of dead whales washing up on the beaches
Will the social media ban be like shark nets?

They make people feel better - and politicians can say ‘look what we did to protect you’ - but really they don’t work, may make the issue worse - & stop real solutions being found & implemented 🤔🤔 #auspol

Correct response by eCommissioner, though I don't know how she expects to get a selfie with Trump if she doesn't show up...
"’I'm answerable to the communications minister here and to the Australian parliament, and not to the #USA Congress," Ms Inman Grant said”. Correct. This would be a performative frolic by the congressional committee? Utterly political. Already their use of “zealot” is abusive & harassing. #internet
“Julie Inman Grant, has been labelled a ‘zealot’ and called to testify before #USA Congress, over concerns her office has censored the #internet for Americans.” The Empire speaks? Australian sovereignty? She should refuse? #auspol

Calling Labor's current approach "incrementalism" or "small target" or whatever makes it sound like they are are an overly cautious progressive govt. Matters like this show that they are actively pursuing policies that make them indistinguishable from the centre right: not incrementalists at all.
Disgraceful & tragic what governments have done to this once science powerhouse! www.abc.net.au/news/2025-11...

CSIRO to cut up to 350 research jobs in major overhaul
After 440 positions were slashed last year, the CSIRO has announced more staff cuts across the country in a bid to remain financially viable.

It is, again, unacceptable that the Herald-Sun continues to use James Campbell as a polling commentator. He should have been moved on for good after his ludicrous misreadings of Redbridge polls during the federal election.

One of the best arguments for politicians keeping pronouncements about their "faith" to themselves is that it allows them to avoid presenting as hypocrites.
Stop pretending there is anything Christ-like in your incrementalist, centrist neoliberalism.
