I can't fix anything. I can keep existing as a trans person who cares about other people, even the ones that hate me. And make art. Even when it's just noticing that light is pretty and showing you.

I'm a daydreaming mood. Not the most productive, but the dreams are sweet what-ifs.

If you click the link here, you will find the Buffalo version of this zine. For the multitaskers in the crowd, I want to mention that folding zines is something you can do to fight fascism while also getting high AND listening to music.

@gravelinfluencer.bsky.social I have made “How to Report ICE” zines for many localities in the US. The SALUTE protocol is included and the LUCE hotline as well for MA. Zines are available in English and Spanish for Massachusetts.

If you don’t think people are hot in the selfies they post, or if you’ve created a hallucination of what people actually look like and then judged it:

Consider that no one fucking asked you. You not thinking people are hot doesn’t mean they are not hot.

We had to pass a little fitness test to be let up it. And to be honest I wasn't 100% sure for a second I was going to be able to get up it when it was happening, but I did ok doing steep steps today.

It is the first gas powered lighthouse. And they made a deal with the local gas company to get free gas as long as they never ever turn the light at the top off. The light is a streetlight bought from the local town when they switched to electric and has the daintiest light.

That photo I posted twice is one of my favorites from the day ☺️

So it turns out I still love lighthouses, especially the being up high and the wind and the view and the birds. But I still don't like the way most national sites treat war and the military.

But the buildings themselves, super cool.

If someone said, you'll get to see your first wild bald eagle from the top of a lighthouse but first you have to do an hour guided tour through a mishmash small military museum, I'm not sure I would have said yes.

We ended our day at Past Times Arcade, this was my favorite backglass art
The backglass of a pinball machine called Lortoum. It has a man on the back of a many tentacled space squid monster. He has a large gem behind it.

This little goat was my favorite piece from the areas I hadn't visited on my previous trip. It is Sumarían, from Iraq. And after a really good conversation at the McMichael with my partner I wish it said more about the provenance.

day 1014: the left-over ink from day 1012 was still drying up yesterday evening, so I did some more whim-following. This piece ended up being my favorite of the bunch, I think!

This is a simple abstract piece, with turquoise ink and a black fine-liner. We see blots of bluish ink, and black squares with vertical lines. There is a lot of negative space.

The frog did end up yelling at me. But I think the right thing to do is actually to give the frog what it wants. And I like that I can do the right thing but I hate being yelled at.

In an ideal world, yes. But also in an ideal world society would be less disabling about it and having a diagnosis wouldn't present its own threat to my child. In the absence of an ideal world I'm sticking with teaching what I know so my kid can build on that.
