The first one at Dolores Park was a hit! So we decided to do another one.

We’ll be there 12-5pm. Forecast shows 75-80 degree highs, and sunny skies. The menu, signup form to bring something, and directions are in the linktree below.

106 years ago, one of the deadliest race massacres in American history took place in Elaine, Arkansas. Black farmers, seeking fair payment for their crops, organized through the Progressive Farmers and Household Union of America.

When their meeting was attacked by a group of white men, the confrontation left one white man dead. In response, white mobs, joined by federal troops, launched a days-long assault on the Black community, killing well over 100 Black men and women.

The headlines below show the cost to Black families and how a disinformation campaign was used to justify the violence against Black Americans. The claim, all too familiar, was that the Black organizers were trying to start a socialist revolution.

Relationships exist, but if we are bad at friendships we are likely also bad at relationships. But since relationships are a social norm/goal, we stay in them while failing at them.

Those assumptions work in tandem: he suggests relationships are better (more moral?) than polyamory while also implying relationships are solid & healthy just because they exist (?!).

Relationship style stems from friendship style stems from approach to self and family style…

These assumptions undermine the argument. For one, what “problem” with polyamory? Pathologizing sex is wild. Two, assuming relationships are somehow “better” because we “focus” on them is faulty when (for example) the data on life expectancy for married men & women is not so inequitable.

Let’s say he got it backwards. Society places more emphasis on marriage/romance, which means little else gets attention / development (we don’t cultivate the same support for single people, including support / education / norms on friendships). And tbh, relationships aren’t nurturing either.

Holidays are hard for a lot of queer people. Friendsgivings on other days are great, but there’s always something about Thanksgiving Day (and Xmas) that hits at our loneliness, hunger, and need for community.

So, we’re raising $1,500 for each of the two holidays, to make sure no one goes alone. 💚

These are free events. This tradition started in 2022. In 2023, we sponsored 3 events: in Santa Barbara, Oakland, and El Paso. In 2024, the catered meal was held in Oakland in a collaboration with Good VBZ.

Cracks do not allow you to make patterns with your path. If i step on a crack now I have to step on another one to balance the pattern between my feet. I mean I don’t have to but pattern n balance does feel nice on the brain. 😂👉🏽🧠🌶️
