Holidays are hard for a lot of queer people. Friendsgivings on other days are great, but there’s always something about Thanksgiving Day (and Xmas) that hits at our loneliness, hunger, and need for community.

So, we’re raising $1,500 for each of the two holidays, to make sure no one goes alone. 💚

November 27h, Oakland, CA

These are free events. This tradition started in 2022. In 2023, we sponsored 3 events: in Santa Barbara, Oakland, and El Paso. In 2024, the catered meal was held in Oakland in a collaboration with Good VBZ.

Cracks do not allow you to make patterns with your path. If i step on a crack now I have to step on another one to balance the pattern between my feet. I mean I don’t have to but pattern n balance does feel nice on the brain. 😂👉🏽🧠🌶️

One of the things about the 90s, is they said that open markets create open societies — they said you need capitalism and democracy are symbiotic in the far-side shadow if the Cold War. 30 years later, we know that isn’t true.

I feel this way, too. It was a place for me to connect, having grown up in a small, culturally narrow town. But there’s not a lot of connection happening any more; transactional and extractive, and less learning, too.

I think in this discussion, using that metaphor, that isn’t an option. The bottle might say lube but it’s not even spit; the marketing behind AI gives the illusion of a crumb of agency and even that is a lie. Implying that we can possibly be part of it is lying to ourselves.

The marginalized people who pushed NFTs, crypto, and other tech-based scams said things like this, almost verbatim.

Head to any meeting of marginalized tech workers and they’ll say the same, even as tech targets their own communities.

“Secure the bag” is not anyone’s panacea.
