realistically i will never use it in casual typing online, so in that sense, it does seem very much a tell being on reddit or something and seeing someone pull out the — vs - (or --)

i picked an awkward time to learn proper em dash usage (previously i wrote them [like — this] (or with an en dash), when it's proper [like—this] (no spaces). now it's known as a "tell" re: ai, but you can take dashes from my cold dead hands

i do feel sort of oddly in my own little corner now, as someone only using bsky/tumblr these days, and i know a lot of artists have gone back/cross-post on twitter. but alas. i still browse but haven't posted there in forever
