NATO moving troops into Greenland is nice because it shows they're taking it somewhat seriously, but also... I didn't want it to be serious. I wanted to be wrong and overreacting.

Watching the new episode of Fallout, and they've finally arrived in New Vegas. I hope they give us Fisto. It'd be a criminal loss not to give us Fisto.

I love the deathclaws in the fallout show and them feeling more practical effects is so perfectly fitting to the vibes of the show. Love it.

I know Soren is a jerk, but like... I get where he's coming from.

Anyhow, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance is great. Check it out. A definite Nintendo GameCube classic.

Between @jekeep.bsky.social and I, we wrote really fun stories with a natural flow, great dialogue, unique hooks, and phenomenal sex scenes. Editing them always leaves me hot and bothered ☺️

I'm also a good cover designer who is flexible enough to keep learning how to improve.
Artists, I think we're all too comfortable sharing our imposter syndrome.

I would love to see you step out of your comfort zone and confidently state what you think you're actually really good at.

No self deprecation, just what you think you're the strongest at

Is anyone brave eniough? 👀

I used to have impostor syndrome pretty bad, but I’ve had over 200 book covers I’ve designed hit the top 100 on Amazon (of all books!) so I know I’m good at what I do. The numbers don’t lie.

Honestly I hate advertising, but this new sensation that advertisers are just fucking tired of advertising to us and so they treat us like a slot machine they can keep pulling without any effort is somehow worse. Like the AI idiots that keep telling us to stop insulting their product? Fucking why?
January 14, 2026 at 7:46 PM
This is offensively boring. There were ballsier ads in Nintendo Power in the 90s. I guess they think it's DEI to have a hot woman in a bikini selling cereal but a guy selling cereal is gay?

This advertising campaign was made by and for people afraid of everything.

Also the kerning is bad.

Wondering why no one likes your posts anymore, even among your friends? It's because @jay.bsky.team and team have decided to hide a huge amount of content from all of our feeds by default.

Here's how to turn it off.

At the video store, you had to commit. You got one to three movies and you had to make the best of it. Now there's a vast landfill of "content" that people put on but don't watch because they're on their phone. A worthless experience.

Everyone's like "I miss Blockbuster." Fuck Blockbuster. I miss the super-rad local video/convenience store that chain video places closed.

7 movies/7 days/$7 and an incredible horror section is still unmatched.
Yeah I'm old enough to remember the non-chain video stores before, and how much better they were than Blockbuster.

Great thread, funny stuff.
I know nostalgia for Blockbuster is a thing. I don’t really remember it that way. I remember it having fewer movies than the stores I went to as a kid. But I worked at Blockbuster when I was 17.

Here are some things that happened while I was there.

I have to listen to people slag off romance novels, a completely harmless social good. This guy's helping destroy everything.

It's well earned hurt.

Companies used to have, you know, sales people that would convince or coerce you into believing you need a thing. Now they're just sick of having to do that.

Watching season one of "The Terror" and it's really good. Very into it, there are few things more terrifying to me than being trapped on the ice.

These shadowy practices inform the structure of today’s internet.

We all stayed in the Googleverse out of inertia, an inertia carefully engineered to look like convenience.

The good news is: it doesn't have to be this way.

As always—
