My grandma lived in Marshall, MN, and was about as traditional Minnesota as you get. When she was alive and still in good health she worked with her church to help settle Somali refugees there and was very proud (well, as proud as a traditional Minnesotan can get) of that work. I’m proud of her too.

I really can’t say fuck this dipshit bigot and all of the sycophants in that room loudly enough
Trump: "It’s a hellhole right now. And those Somalians should be out of here. They've destroyed our country. And all they do is complain, complain, complain. You have her. She’s always talking about the Constitution provides me with – go back to your own country and figure out your constitution."

The NYT article about GenX (me) says “the hallmark characteristics…anticorporatism, anti-authoritarianism, ironic detachment, artistic independence, an existential horror of selling out and a live-and-let-live philosophy of life.” I wish this were true but it seems to be just a lie we told ourselves

I think we all know who actually contributes nothing (psssst, it’s the fuckface talking in this video)
Trump on Minnesota's Somali community: "They contribute nothing. I don't want them in our country, I'll be honest with you."

They still aren’t my #1 seed Wolves unis, but I will admit that the black trees look nice.

I’m at that point in a Vikings game where I’m thinking about things like how I don’t like that teams use a logo decal on their helmets rather than a painted logo.

I literally laughed out loud at that interception. What else could I do?

I love these Seahawks unis. It’s kind of amazing how much better they are than their normal uniforms (this is also relevant for Timberwolves fans).

What every defender of AI slop completely misunderstands about creativity is that the fun part is the process and not the product (yeah, it’s also the hard part but if you don’t engage in it, you miss out on what makes the product worthwhile for both you and the reader, viewer, etc.)

If you live in Minneapolis and your street sign is blue, you live on a snow emergency route and you should not park on it tonight
Minneapolis has declared a snow emergency. Parking rules will begin at 9 p.m. tonight, Nov. 30. https://www.minneapolismn.gov/getting-around/snow/snow-emergencies/snow-parking-rules/

I can say without hyperbole that "AI art is good because it democratizes the creative process" is the dumbest argument in human history.

"...because RCV has turned city elections into a confusing and elitist process that requires voters to study the positions of the various — but all-DFL — candidates running for office."

Such a weird thing to say on its own but the writer never once explains how RCV is confusing and elitist.
It's time to scrap ranked-choice voting and its empty promises
Once again, the Minneapolis mayoral contest revealed that RCV doesn’t deliver better campaigns or elections.

Americans are holding onto devices longer than ever and it's costing the economy
Americans are holding onto devices longer than ever before, and while it may be consumer smart, it comes at a cost to work productivity and the U.S. economy.

I’ll start.

The Minnesota Vikings 🤦🏻‍♂️

I just don’t think the league should allow the Wolves to lose when their unis look this good.

I would love to be able to talk to my dad again, but notice I said “my dad” and not “some AI abomination.”
For real, check this out. Evil.

Spurs wearing gray while playing on a gray floor is not aesthetically pleasing.

(Still yet to see an NBA Cup floor that didn’t make watching the game worse)
