Hurty Gurdy Musical Instrument, Very Rare (requires attunement) It seems that someone took great lengths to make this wheel fiddle as imposing as possible by adding spikes to nearly every flat surface on it. Even the strings themselves have been replaced with a tightly wound, yet fine sounding steel wire covered in barbs. Though this instrument hasn’t seen use in some time, there are still deep red stains covering it. It would seem that the users of it in years gone by have left their mark. You gain a +1 bonus to performance checks made with this magical instrument. When you perform with it, roll a d6. On an even result, you cut yourself and take 1d8 piercing damage. On an odd result, you do not cut yourself and gain a +3 bonus instead as the performance is especially impressive. Once per day, when an ally within 30 feet of you would take damage as part of a weapon or spell attack, you can use a reaction to grind a grating note, redirecting 25 points of the triggering damage to yourself. Any resistances you have still apply to this damage, but the original target still takes any additional conditions from the hit.

Brain Rot Wondrous Item, Rare (requires attunement) This unusual looking, gleaming gold crown is decorated with gazing green eyes that move at all times searching for intelligent creatures around it. The interior of the crown looks like a remarkably well crafted brain that is nearly indistinguishable from the real thing. Several winding tentacles move autonomously from the bottom of it, twisting and reaching toward any that approach the crown. Looking upon the crown fills your head with visions of intelligent grandeur and promises of remarkable speechcraft. Curse. This crown is cursed and becoming attuned to it extends the curse to you. While cursed by this item, you forget all languages you previously knew, but gain a new language called Brain Rot. This new language sounds like Common, but is strewn with a dizzying mixture of terms and phrases that make little sense to others that don’t speak this language. When you speak to a creature while cursed, they must succeed on a DC 16 Intelligence Saving throw to understand what you said. If they fail their saving throw, you and the creature you spoke to take 1d8+2 psychic damage. This crown cannot be removed and attunement cannot be broken unless it is targeted by a Remove Curse spell.

Hoot Suit Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement by a druid) While it does look a bit ridiculous, you would be wise to keep any heckling to yourself should you see someone wearing this suit. Looks, after all, can be deceiving. Designed to mimic the appearance of the fearsome owlbear, this suit is perfect for druids that want to embody the impossible and take their wild shapes to a new, and more imposing, level. While attuned to this suit, your Strength score becomes 19. If your strength score is higher than 19, then this benefit has no effect on you. Additionally your senses become extremely keen granting you gain advantage on Perception checks that rely on the use of sight or smell. Wildest Shape. While attuned to this suit, you gain the ability to transform into an owlbear when you use your wild shape feature. You gain the abilities of an owlbear just as you would with any other wild shape. Due to the unstable nature of this transformation, you can only stay in your owlbear form for 10 minutes instead of your usual duration.

The best GM tip I have to offer is to just shut up sometimes.

Introduce the area and then just be quiet for a bit. Some players need time to think and figure out what they want to engage with. In your haste to forge a story, we can forget to give the players time to breathe.

Pocket Abby ITEM 14 Uncommon, Conjuration, Magical Price 2407 gp Usage held in 1 hand; Bulk L This small, hand stitched doll is crafted with extreme care and precision. The soft, felt-like texture of the outside makes it perfect for hugging in moments that you might find yourself scared or overwhelmed. The doll was made to resemble Abby, a formidable kraken that is said to be in possession of a massive trove of magical items. For today though, this one just seems to be very cute. While you are holding the Pocket Abby you gain a +2 item bonus to saving throws against effects that would make you frightened. Activate (AAA) command, Interact; Frequency once per day; Effect You speak a phrase and throw the Pocket Abby toward a point of your choosing that you can see within 30 feet. When it gets to that point it instantaneously transforms into a Giant Octopus that will fight for you. The octopus has the Amphibious trait instead of the Aquatic trait. Additionally, it has a fly speed of 40 feet and it can effectively use its Ink Cloud and Jet actions without being underwater. You can Sustain the Activation of the Pocket Abby for up to 1 minute.

Easy Back Oven Wondrous Item, Uncommon Fitted with robust straps and kept hot with a magically infused everburning log, this backpack is the perfect traveling companion for those that just can’t be kept away from the kitchen. The back is fitted with a heat absorbing shielding to make sure it remains comfortable to carry all day long without the wearer getting uncomfortable. It comes conveniently kitted with everything a person could need to bake any bread or confectionery treat you could set your mind to so long as you have the materials to make it. You can spend 1 hour concentrated on your task and use 1 sp worth of materials to produce enough baked goods from this oven to feed 6 creatures for a day. Creatures who consume baked goods prepared from this oven gain a +1 bonus on their next Constitution saving throw that is made within 24 hours. While the oven is made for food prep on the go, it also has potential for non-conventional uses. Placing a metal weapon into the oven for 10 minutes heats the weapon to a dull red glow causing it to deal an additional 1d4 fire damage on successful attacks for the next minute. Additionally, once per day resetting at dawn, you can use an action to flip open the valve on the chimney and fill a 10 foot radius sphere around you with smoke. The area is heavily obscured and the smoke persists for 1 minute or until a wind of moderate or greater speed (at least 10 miles per hour) disperses it.
