A left-wing mob of cybernetically enhanced coyotes into all manner of ill shit.

Actually, it's just one retired (emphasis on tired) squid with a serious phobia related to random wires sticking out of the ground and a love of flying and airplanes.

There is no race, national origin, religion, creed, sexual orientation, or gender identity with a monopoly on patriotism.

There is, unfortunately, a certain subset of white heterosexual men who believe they have the right to dictate who is and is not fit to serve.

That latter group can fuck off.
Aaaaaand that's enough aviation internet for the day.

I got stopped on the street in Koenji (Tokyo) and taken to the koban (police box) because there was an assault earlier in the day in Chiba (also Tokyo.)

This is the same thing ICE is doing now. They hear about a possible assault in San Bernardino and start jamming people up in Brentwood.
White privilege is just a fancy way of saying “you don’t have to deal with racism”, it doesn’t mean you have a Rolls Royce and a staff of servants.

It does mean you don’t have to worry about ICE tackling you in the hallway because a neighbor said you “look illegal.”

Listening to airframe structural mechanics argue about how Schrader valves work. There are six of them. They're all convinced they're right and the other five are wrong.

They just got done arguing about how radar works.

Anthropic "released" (-5 for incorrect word choice, should be "sponsored and paid for") a study saying people are 1,892,312% (or some other absurd number) more efficient when using their "product."

Yes, and I'm sure the Philip-Morris "studies" about smoking not causing cancer were equally unbiased.

I am an Eagle Scout.

I will always be proud of Scouting. To be fair, they've grappled with some heinous shit of late.

That said, the core tenets of decency toward others, selfless community service, respect for diversity of thought, and doing the right thing even when it's hard? It's still there.

Dated from a week prior.

Bro, I know we went a little hard in Shinjuku but I didn't think you could hear it 5,500 miles away.

I cannot imagine what could possibly go wrong in trying to court-martial an astronaut and pilot decorated multiple times for valor and exceptional service, who is also a sitting senator, for correctly making the point that service members are obliged not to follow unlawful orders
Hegseth is now threatening to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to active duty in order to court martial him.

Being in the Navy made wardrobe choices for work really easy.

Normal day: brown things.
Working on aircraft day: coverall things.
Airplane ride: zoom bag things.
Important people: white or black fancy things.

The entirety of the report is worth reading. As a former helicopter mechanic, catastrophic material failures are some scary stuff.

I used to read the USS Sterett deck log excerpts published in 'Neptune's Inferno' by James Hornfischer to new Chiefs.

Ship COs used to be given the ability to promote Sailors to Chief. To think that one would recognize the heroism not with a medal but with their Anchors?

Kind of a big deal.
