It's not just social media. Looks like visitors to the US from Europe and other countries that are part of the visa waiver program will have to submit an enormous amount of data about themselves and their families, including DNA, if proposed new rules are accepted

I honestly think that many people don't know what their public libraries offer besides books. I think that everyone should go on a public library treasure hunt in 2026. Go explore what your library systems offer at no cost to you. Report back to me :)

The moment I became the Joker
25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

One way to make Trump pay for trying to indict those who tried to hold him accountable is to make sure it backfires, to make sure his prosecutions make those targets rock stars.

So a good night to share this.

In June 2024, @workingfamilies.org started its nationwide Mass Calls program of political education.

Since then, the number of people joining these calls has steadily grown into the thousands.

The next and last call for the year is tomorrow (Thu, Dec 11) at 8pm ET / 7pm CT / 6pm MT / 5pm PT.
THIS WEEK: join our last mass call of 2025. We'll be talking wins and plans for next year — a hugely consequential year for rebalancing power towards working people.

We will hear from WFP-endorsed congressional candidates which is fun and cool

By now, everyone should be able to see that the only "risk" is white people having fewer roles and less critical power.
What was the movie of 2025? According to our critic A.A. Dowd, it was Sinners and it's not even close. Yet Hollywood's power brokers tried to downplay it, maybe because Black directors and stars are still considered "risky" bets in the movie biz, against all evidence.
