Ironically, when I saw Barbie back in 2023, I said to a few of my friends, "This movie is about Neurodiversity, right?" It was all about feeling uncomfortable and not understanding all the world's rules around you.

When my sister was a kid, she loved Teresa because she was a Barbie who looked like her as a brown girl. Having an #ActuallyAutistic Barbie makes perfect sense because in so many ways, Barbie literally masks and performs femininity.

Neurodivergent children or children with intellectual developmental disabilities are no different. You may have to adjust your expectations. You may have to find support accommodations. However, they deserve to contribute too. They deserve belonging and significance

One of the ways you can build that belonging & significance is by allowing them to contribute to their household and community.
*chores
*family meetings
*volunteer work
*problem solving
*extracurricular activities
*just joining you in making dinner or doing household projects

Im up right now because my oldest daughter took an edible, started bugging out and called the ambo.. So I go out there, talk them and her off the ledge, and bring her high ass back in the house. So, now we just waiting little miss moon boots down.

Thank goodness for Parents who understand mistakes are learning opportunities and are there to support you through the suffering of your own consequences. I know she’s thankful for you

I will continue to beat my drum about how all of white folks efforts against fascism in this country are in vain until they are interested in dismantling whiteness. Even as these fools pat themselves on the back at how great their fight’s going while they never think of how they oppress us.
