I FINALLY got my Ko-Fi page to a place where I feel like I can advertise it. I currently don't have as much art there as I have on here, but I am going to update it with my current art. I would really appreciate it if you could share this, and any tips you give me would me a lot!

I bought some casein paint to play with, and it's really fun! It's kind of like acryla-gouache, but milk!

#art #traditionalart #painting
A teeny casein painting of a tree on a blue sky background. The leaves of the tree are yellowish and there are several little spots of the sky that are poking through the leaves. I imagine the tree is an Aspen or birch tree in fall

Erenville pencil study

#sketch #art #finalfantasy #ffxiv
A pencil study of Erenville, or Elene'shpya, from Final Fantasy XIV. This is a study I did in my sketchbook from a reference image

A plein air study of the nature walk near my house

#watercolor #traditionalart #pleinair
A watercolor study of a landscape done in plein air. There is a large dark green tree on the left third of the composition, and there is a loose suggestion of trees in the background. In the foreground there is a warm brown suggestion of various grasses and autumn-flowering plants. The sky is a very light blue grey

I've come to the conclusion that for me there are two types of watercolor painting styles I like doing. One is more of a traditional painting style and the other is more of an illustrative approach. This painting was done using the latter. I like how it turned out!

A watercolor illustration of a woman with black hair and a blue shirt staring at the viewer. She has an orange red necktie on. The background is magenta. She looks serious

I know exactly what you mean by the grit though. There is a feel and look to Photoshop brushes that other programs don't seem to quite capture
ackernym.bsky.social
Ahhh, gotcha! Yeah Photoshop, while it is a powerhouse, is owned by adobe so, you know, better to jump ship while you still can lol

Rebelle always looked super intriguing to me, but I always figured I could emulate brush strokes well enough in Krita with the right brush back. What's your current main program?

I made a tool that lets you find the treasure in your computer.

It's called Windows Explorer 2

Watercolor and ink experimentation

A small stylized watercolor painting of a woman. Her skin is purplish and red, and her hair is blueish purple. The background is a really dark green

Last light

#watercolor #art #painting #traditionalart
A watercolor painting of two trees that are completely in shadow. There are also two street lamps in the middle of the composition. Everything is quite dark except for the blue sky that fades to red, as it is dusk. The streetlights haven't turned on yet. Further still, behind the streetlights and trees is a wooden fence.

Ratatouille, without a doubt

Ohh that's awesome! It still has all the old sugimori art! Or at least a replication of it!

I dunno

#watercolor #sketch #art
A loose watercolor portrait sketch of a head and upper body. There is a vague impression of some type of purple clothing on the figure and the background is blue and orange.

Lol thanks! Honestly I think it's probably because I'm much more comfortable working in pen and pencil and hatching with watercolor feels kind of similar haha

Mann, artists who use MS paint horrify and delight me. It's also super humbling to see as well, it really shows you that it's not all about the tools you use!

That's what I do as well! Although I hit the full sheets and tear them into smaller sheets that I can practice on. Thank you so much for the kind words!
