I’m really proud of this 5-issue story about escapees, seeking freedom outside prison walls. Working with @ifyoucantwell.bsky.social is great! And our editor @besspallares.bsky.social (@oni-press.bsky.social) is the best!

Head to your comic shop! And find my original art at mrcrook.com/store.

I feel like God was pretty clear about what he thought of Caviezel's previous performance.
A headline from entertainment weekly dated October 24, 2003. The headline reads. "mel Gibson's Jesus is struck by lightning." it goes on to say that star Jim Cavio was hit once during production of the controversial film and an assistant director was struck twice..

A classic case of irresponsible both-sidesism from the NYT. The story is that Trump and MAGA propagandists are lying about Portland to incite a conflict, not that there are different views of the matter.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

"why make AI generated videos of ICE beating and kidnapping people when we already have a lot of real ones? you don't need to convince the left it's happening!!"

the point is to muddy the waters and give the right ammo to insist ALL the videos are/could be AI if a few of them are. #political

This is a.i. The reporter has two hands behind her back and still has a third hand free to hold her mic. Looks like the text was intentionally placed to obscure the third hand. Report for misleading content.

Here's a neat trick they teach in authoritarianism school: If you purge the people who measure the effects of your policies (BLS, MMWR), you can just claim everything's great, and nobody can prove how much damage you're doing.

I wish lying wasn't just accepted and allowed because there's no way that happened. Sorry but no producer is ever doing that. Ever. Just not something that happens. And I'm referring to real producers like Ms. Brockman here and not a "producer" on Timcast

UPDATE: In emailed statement to me / @reason.com, DHS alleges that WGN-TV producer Debbie Brockman "threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer."
Screencap of email from DHS public affairs: Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin:

“U.S. Border Patrol was conducting immigration enforcement operations and when several violent agitators used their vehicles to block in agents in an effort to impede and assault federal officers. In fear of public safety and of law enforcement, officers used their service vehicle to strike a suspect’s vehicle and create an opening. As agents were driving, Deborah Brockman, a U.S. citizen, threw objects at Border Patrol’s car and she was placed under arrest for assault on a federal law enforcement officer.

“This incident is not isolated and reflects a growing and dangerous trend of illegal aliens violently resisting arrest and agitators and criminals ramming cars into our law enforcement officers. These attacks highlight the dangers our law enforcement officers face daily—all while receiving no pay thanks to the Democrats’ government shutdown.”

As I'm moving from hoping to meet my funding goal into actually producing my 'Zine Storage Boxes I have been revising the design. This one is "A Love Letter to Self-Publishing", very similar to what I mocked up initially, but less messy and busy, and I think nicer www.kickstarter.com/projects/the...
A mockup of the Love Letter to Self-Publishing 'Zine Storage Box. Mostly pale yellows, pinks and purples, the design mimics the famous Marvel Comics 25th Anniversary edition covers, except is filled with all your favorite characters from the world of self-published and indie comics. Yes, SMILE was originally a minicomic. A better view of the 25th Anniversary design. Text on the graphic states, "A 'Zine is something homemade, personal, not created with mass-appeal in mind. maybe your 'zine only means something to a small group of people, but to those people it means so much"
