Introductory post: I'm G.P. I'm an artist at KO_OP. Here's some old drawings from my desktop.
It's funny that we had decades of science fiction telling us that we would have thinking machines soon, but they'd be driven by a cruelly efficient, machine logic, and this was represented by things like them speaking with stilted, emotionless voices and stories about them deeming humanity obsolete-

Half-baked theory but adding to the 'everything is gambling now' concept: what if the reason LLM-usage is hooking people is because there's some addictive element to the uncertain outcomes and the coaxing-the-machine nature of prompting. One more pull and you'll get the result you want, I'm sure.

Saw this in a book as a child and it really disturbed me, but I kept looking at it anyway.

Gosh the VHOLUME demo is gorgeous. And it's the first of these first person parkour type games that I've actually found basically fun on a moment to moment basis. Really forgiving

Complaining about 'friendslop' games is really funny to me. Especially given the state of the industry. What do you mean people keep making an abundance of cheap games that are straightforwardly fun with friends and not taking years to do it. Those hacks.

Remembering that "Hitpoints" came from wargaming and meant how many 14" naval shells a target could sustain, so I guess is what taking about 1hp damage would be like.

Reading this oral history of the development of Morrowind and the way they were kind of just tossing stuff together without a lot of oversight and even pulling in different directions at times, makes a lot of sense why to me it felt like it had such a lived-in texture compared to a lot of fantasy
