In the years ahead, Republicans will try to rewrite history and distance themselves from him, but they cannot escape what his rise has already exposed about who they really are.

But moderate Democrats are not too far off, at least insofar as the “bottom feeder” comment goes.

GOP “panic” will fade by the fall, and conservative appeals to faith, family, and order will still resonate with many Hispanic voters. Short memories + strong social identity will beat one bad news cycle.

A realignment of social identity is needed.

Therein lies tension: we advocate for platform alternatives while our daily presence reinforces existing ones.
