Gales of Nayeli has been one of the games I've been most looking forward to, and it's out today! Here are my thoughts on the game from some early access I had. I really recommend this one! www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVwr...
You Should Play Gales of Nayeli

My least favorite development in online games is how many have 8 million different currencies now. So transparently done to be confusing

There's a lot of people in the quotes worried about Wikipedia content being used for AI now. Sadly, that isn't really new.

Almost all content on Wikipedia is published on a free use basis. You've always been able to do whatever you want with it, including use it to train AI.

One of my favorite pieces I've found browsing public domain artwork. Look at the little bugs on their procession 😍!

I've been playing Yakuza lately and my wife laughs at me for stopping at every restaurant I pass to try the different foods 😅
What are the things you enjoy doing in the world of a #videogame that aren't side quests? What do you want to see in a world?
Playing #NoMoreHeroes has me wondering

I wrote an adventure for Ronin about exploring a once great castle that's been overtaken by Yokai. Discover the secrets of Castle Katsutoyo with your party and take the castle for yourselves... Or die trying!

Today I'll be reading Coriolis the Great Dark, so impressions to come!

The concept is immediately appealing to me. A dying civilization in a hollowed out asteroid needs to venture into space ruins to find a way to get their civilization back on track. Adventure ensues, neat!

Nioh adds a great element to the Souls formula I didn't know I wanted. The ability to go sicko mode for like 30 seconds once or twice a level.

We passed that impasse like a week after slop became popular as a term lol
i worry we are at a dangerous impasse where 'slop' might start meaning 'anything i don't like'

I rarely give out +1 magic weapons in my TTRPG sessions, here's why and a simple procedure for generating more interesting items.

Ok I love the mechanics of mechatron but I'm not loving the included adventure. Feels like there's a ton of "if the players don't do this, later an NPC comes and makes them." Or "if the players fail this skill roll an NPC just does it for them"

I read through mutant year zero +mechatron yesterday and today. This is the first post apocalypse game that has really grabbed me. I like the premise of mechatron the most. Playing as worker robots gaining sentience and questioning "why do we work?" Sounds very fun to me

I'm excited to run some more Ronin tonight! The published adventures use random tables and encounters in some ways I usually don't. Here's what I like, what I don't like, and how I will apply what I like to my games.

I've been reading a lot about Yokai lately! Here's three that I like and how I might include them in a TTRPG campaign.

The GM can always make the dice cooperate because they decide when to ask the dice for answers :)
Ever had a session where the dice just refuse to cooperate? How do you handle those critical failures as a GM?

Today I ran my first session of Ronin! We got about halfway through the intro adventure, so we get into the real meaty stuff next time. Full impressions when we finish it next week, but a thing I was impressed by and a funny thing that happened:
Today I'm reading Slightly Reckless Games' Ronin! I ordered a copy yesterday, but it came with a pdf, so I'll be digging in today. Right off the bat, the page layouts are lovely, as is to be expected from a Mork Borg inspired product.

Reading through Daggerheart, what I like on first impression:

- Simplifying where it makes sense: Stuff like just having stat modifiers instead of scores, having all the druid animal options right under the class.
- the hope and fear dice: cool easy to interpret way of adding complications

Ttrpg abilities are more fun when they expand the space of the game. Also featuring my one sided beef with 5e's actor feat
