im growing my beard back, and I'm still in the weird beard transition period where I look like a drunk who hasn't seen his kid months. And I always go into a fugue state on podcasts and end up talking like a 5 year old with a hobby they're pumped about.

So like I said: good tv.
friends. Ash and I will be on www.twitch.tv/middleagedga... / www.youtube.com/@middleagedg... today at 9p UK time (4p EST) to chat about Existential Treads and gaming news of the week.

I, for one, am looking pretty haggard. Pretty sure Ash does too. Gonna be some great tv. Come watch.

All artists should follow Gareth. His work is routinely in mood boards i make for various projects. Great stuff.

I mean hell, look at this image and look at existential treads. You can see it. The color. The stylistic jank.
Big colourful robots anyone?

My god. Day of days. Mystery science theater, kids in the hall, and the Simpsons were the holy trinity of comedy education for young Adam.
Today in 1988 Mystery Science Theater 3000 premiered on KTMA in St. Paul Minnesota. #MST3K

fortnite being IP soup and tik tok being tik tok are interesting because I might say "oh damn, young people aren't going to understand form, structure, composition, etc" - and I think that might be true! - but *I* won't understand the new structures that grow from this particular soil.

hey also look my talented wife's work
Another rug I made a few weeks ago for a show at a local gallery! I wanted to stick with naming it after a character from the book I was listening to while working - Harrow the Ninth, but I think Harrow is probably the opposite of cozy quilt design?? 💀 #fiberart #tuftedrug

I tell my students that one of the many reasons it's exciting to be in games is because its history is still living memory. The people that started Video Games as we know them are still around. You can ask them questions.

But they're old. They're dying. We're losing something truly tremendous.

The temperature is getting colder here in London, so this is an excellent time to remind you that every hour, the monster goes out to the weather station in London to check the temperature and sets the price for A Good Snowman is Hard to Build to match the weather.

Middle aged nonsense, but i feel like Id have fun with a model train. Making a little landscape and shit. Having a little train go around with a mini camera on it. Adding little decorations when I launch a game.

Good clean fun.

Friendly tip for folks. My discord got hacked yesterday and my computer was acting funky ever since. Turns out it was malware installed through a blender file I bought as part of an asset pack on CG Trader. I didn’t know blender files were being used this way, but I figured I’d spread the word.

I know I've done some complaining about the art tooling in Godot, but credit where it's due; they're out there talking to devs working with the engine, finding out what folks like and what they think could be stronger. High five, Godot foundation. Good job.

people likin' the latest draknek, which feels nice
If you've picked up the latest copy of EDGE, keep an eye out for an excellent 9/10 review of Spooky Express in there:

“Whether you're a mere mortal or a puzzle demon, then, you're all but guaranteed to enjoy the ride.”
