Author Adam Ramsay hopes the positive environmental story about his dad's pioneering beaver reintroduction near Alyth can help young people find hope.

The media is meeting the news that one in four children arrive at school not toilet trained with the usual parent-blaming tripe. In reality, as I explained here, this is the direct consequence of a decades long marketing campaign by the nappy industry: theecologist.org/2025/aug/04/...
The global nappy poonami
Big Nappy has convinced parents not to potty train children at the right age - leading to mountains of pollution and some serious health issues.

We should be kicking the US out of Diego Garcia. And Ascension Island. And the Cyprus bases - we can’t let British colonial vestiges be used to help a US invasion of Greenland: abolishwestminster.substack.com/p/if-us-forc...
If US forces invade Greenland, they will be using British bases
British infrastructure is an important part of Trump's war machine

This is very good. Outlines the real treachery perpetrated on our land and society.

(you don't need to have watched The Traitors, btw. I certainly haven't and don't intend to)

An extraordinary poll in Wales today, including 50% planning to back pro-independence parties.

We should have all of these animals
Slovenia is smaller and more densely populated than Scotland. But despite its small size and relatively populous countryside, it's home to nearly 1,000 brown bears, over 120 wolves and a growing population of around 50 reintroduced lynx.

Outrageous.

Ministers should be listening to scientists, frontline communities and those working towards a green transition – not hosting the interests of oil giants in their own offices.

It's entirely unsurprising that fossil fuel lobbyists work within government on climate policy. Such is the state of our politics.
