I think they’re trying. Pretty sure I’ve never seen so many pop-ups in a game in my life.

How did Dingler’s knees not fall off after popping up to make that throw?

At a certain point, the ALCS doesn't actually "start." The Jays just show up and take over a dugout from one of these teams and the game continues.

One year, my dad missed my birthday because he had to cover a baseball game. Or: part of a game. The end of a Red Wings-PawSox battle that had been postponed after the first 32 innings ended in a tie several months prior. The Sox won it in the 33rd.

I think his knees would fall off if he tried…at least mine would after catching so long tonight

If we get to the 16th, he’s going to be calling for a bunt with two outs and no one on

I always felt that way about McCarver before Smoltz. Feels like a pattern where a lot of analysts, especially at the national level, get douchier the more comfortable they get in their role.
adfrts.bsky.social
I agree, with the caveat that that’s more of a testament to just how bad Smoltz is

baseball is the best preparation for death because it does not come with a clock that tells you when your suffering will end one way or the other

That Dodgers bullpen depth is bad. Someone has to help.

100% Just the fight within the cabinet alone, which is made up almost entirely of failed candidates, will be a sight to see.

When the cheeseburgers and diet cokes eventually do their job on dear leader, the depth of division will be wild to watch. 99.9% of their tv hits are for an audience of one. So many reps were elected b/c they pledged fealty to dear leader. So many fascist clowns will be directionless.

😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 I’m laughing so hard because there are absolutely zero reasons for them to do this…but I’ve also learned to never put anything past a franchise owned by Dick Monfort, so I’m also laughing as a mechanism to keep from crying. Couldn’t imagine a worse fit.

Terrible story but great reporting by Laura Penington of the Denver Post:
- "A man died... after being hit by the driver of a van while riding his bike"
- "the driver struck him from behind"

And some extra context that you rarely ever see:
- "There are no bike lanes along that stretch of road"

Many things, but among them the effects of too much time spent on FB. I swear FB and Nextdoor rip out brain cells of users and replace them with equal parts racism, fear of change and hot air.

OK, I don't think I can explain the incredible ever-increasing velocity in MLB better than this.

We just finished the 4th inning of tonight's Cubs-Brewers game.

This game has had 35 100 mph pitches. That's more than were thrown in the '08, '09 or '10 postseasons.
