I will be responding to the official Govt consultation when they launch it in the coming months.

I will continue to advocate for SEND children and parents in Parliament. I am feeding in experience of families in Waveney Valley to help inform the policy review the Govt is currently doing.

While some children receive the help they need, many others do not, and it is a tragedy that so many children with additional needs are being left behind, too many without appropriate school places or support. This must be address by the Government's forthcoming review.
January 17, 2026 at 12:45 PM
They all shared how vital this support has been, and how difficult things become once children become too old to use the service. It's heartbreaking hearing how hard it is for families to get their children’s needs recognised.
January 17, 2026 at 12:45 PM
For families who often can't use any other childcare or play services, this support is absolutely invaluable. It was incredibly powerful to speak with parents of children who have used Eye Opportunities.
January 17, 2026 at 12:45 PM
The Eye Opportunities Group does fantastic work supporting families across large parts of Suffolk and Norfolk. The group provides specialist play and family support for children under five with additional needs, offering structured sessions for both children and parents.

Thanks to the boys and girls at St Peter & St Paul Primary School for welcoming me on Monday. Great to see the fantastic work of their eco council, making a real difference in reducing the school’s carbon footprint, and to chat with students about life as a local MP.

Over the past decade, Heat Trust has been key to the growth of this sector by championing high standards & helping ensure heat networks are fit for the future across England, Wales and Scotland.
January 15, 2026 at 2:43 PM
I was delighted to host @heattrust.bsky.social to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Heat networks are set to play a vital role in the transition to clean heating, helping to decarbonise homes and meet our climate targets.

The idea that animal testing labs constitute critical national infrastructure is simply absurd. Private labs are not the same as power stations, and treating them as such is an unjustified and dangerous overreach.
January 14, 2026 at 3:35 PM
Astonishingly, even though we have modern, reliable alternatives to animal testing, this Labour Government has pushed through draconian legislation to restrict the right to protest outside animal testing facilities.

Just left PMQs without getting called. Yesterday, the OEP warned that the UK will miss most environmental targets by 2030.

Nature is in crisis, and the watchdog needs real teeth, not just bark.
January 14, 2026 at 2:09 PM
It would simply restore the level of environmental accountability that existed before Brexit. Without these powers, the OEP risks becoming a watchdog that can bark but cannot bite, while environmental targets remain unmet and nature continues to decline.
January 13, 2026 at 8:33 PM
If the Govt is serious about its climate and biodiversity commitments, it must give the OEP real teeth, including the power to sanction and fine Government departments and local authorities that fail to meet legally binding targets. This would not be an overreach.
January 13, 2026 at 8:33 PM
Leaving little realistic chance of stopping the decline of iconic British species such as the hedgehog & red squirrel by 2030. The Govt must recognise that halting & reversing the decline of nature is central to our wellbeing and to food security as well as a healthy environment.
January 13, 2026 at 8:33 PM
The report shows that the majority of the ten environmental targets set out in the Environment Act 2021 have little to no chance of being met by 2030.

Rather than stepping up action, the Govt is actively advancing policies that will further damage it,
January 13, 2026 at 8:33 PM
Today’s Office for Environmental Protection (OEP) report lays bare the scale of the crisis and is a deeply damning indictment of the environmental record of successive Govts.

It is totally indefensible how many critical welfare breaches occurred last year. Too many parts of our animal welfare systems are failing to protect animals, and the combined impact of these failures is devastating.

Revealed: UK farm animals endured
Unpublished records have revealed thousands of animal welfare breaches on farms, during livestock transport and at abattoirs across England and Wales

The danger those protesting in Iran face is nothing short of horrific, with hundreds killed already.

The international community must stand in solidarity with the protestors and make clear the Iranian regime cannot kill and target their own citizens with impunity.

It’s been obvious from the outset that the Government needed to review the APR threshold.

It’s baffling that it took 14 months to do so.

I've asked the Government if they recognise the emotional and financial cost of this 14-month delay to farmers?

Looking forward to Christmas, but it can be a hard time for those feeling lonely or grieving.

On Friday I joined Norwich Soca Senior, where my late dad played, to honour members who’ve passed away this year and celebrate the friendship, wellbeing, & support the club gives older men
