Groundwater is free in the NT and the Productivity Commission benchmarked the NT’s water allocation plans as basically Australia’s worst and going backwards so applications like this are inevitable.

Fingers crossed the High Court will stop this madness.

The proposed extraction stands to damage 40 groundwater-dependent sacred sites belonging to the four Kaytetye landholding groups: Anerre, Waake-Akwerlpe, Iliyarne and Arlpwe.
