Yo! I'm a hypercharged dev/artist dark horse. I know a lot, do a lot, & like a lot: So I talk about & create loads of different things. Mostly robots and sci-fi.
But really anything goes.

I'm also an expert on self-motivation and persistence in the face of isolation and going at one's own pace.
Time to pack up the Bernina 💙🩷 the final beach themed baby cloths are done. 4 small ones and 2 larger ones.

Can move on to digital art things now.

Nothing to fancy but fun little detail to consider to you sci-fi and prop artists. Nothing says you can’t be extra and animate stuff like that to add more character and life to something. #reference

Eyeing Luxemburg to share me the setlist for Helloween & Beast in Black concert bc I got the Tilburg ticket but... I don't know Helloween at all.

I literally bought the ticket just to see the opening band bc I missed BiB's 2025 tour 😂 I need to update my knowledge.
Goedemorgen! Won't trust google translate but this random post on my tl taught me 'günaydin', & learning other languages is one of the internet's greatest things.

☕️🌅 have a great day!

At some point AI systems start training on more AI regurgitated data and less purely human verified data.

Research shows that will lead to Model Collapse.

What Is Model Collapse? | IBM
Model collapse refers to the declining performance of generative AI models that are trained on AI-generated content.

wikipedia's data shows that AI is siphoning traffic away from the site, which is a danger to its sustainability. ironically Wikipedia is more important than ever to users who want reliable information instead of slop, and to AI companies that need it for training data www.404media.co/wikipedia-sa...
Wikipedia Says AI Is Causing a Dangerous Decline in Human Visitors
“With fewer visits to Wikipedia, fewer volunteers may grow and enrich the content, and fewer individual donors may support this work.”

There's a sucker born every minute, but it sucks it's my government, and the EU. So the popcorn is expensive.
The plan for OpenAI is to promise to replace all of labor with a perfect substitute made of capital, use that absurd promise to buy a bunch of data center hardware with the power of finance, and then go bankrupt when the music stops.
These people don't have the balls to make windows 12 AI-driven and see the sales tank. They gotta keep the inflated bubble whole which is why we get retroactive additions in products people didn't buy for the AI. It's lies.
This is the future of Windows. Microsoft wants to rewrite Windows to turn computers into AI PCs that you talk to. It's now bringing AI features to all Windows 11 PCs today, in a bid to convince you to talk to your PC and let AI control it. Full details 👇 www.theverge.com/news/799768/...

Belgian supermarkets are helping themselves to an AI powered five finger discount on music in their stores. Here's hoping that customers will help themselves to five finger discounts on their products. According to Brico & Carrefour you don't need to pay for works of others, after all. Kill economy.
It's funny cuz it's true 😂

collar gate is the latest instance of a trumped-up non-issue blossoming into a large-scale psychosis event – and possibly the dumbest. it's also the modern internet doing exactly what it was engineered to do
Had my official pp obgyn conv today. Casus officially closed, great recovery.

Celebrating the milestone with the same snack they gave me after they saved our lives. Cola freeze pops never tasted so damn good.

Premium: The AI Bubble's promises are impossible. NVIDIA's customers are running out of money, GPUs die in 3-5 years, most 1GW data centers will never get built, and OpenAI's Abilene data center doesn't won't have the power it needs before 2028 - if it ever does.

The AI Bubble's Impossible Promises
Readers: I’ve done a very generous “free” portion of this newsletter, but I do recommend paying for premium to get the in-depth analysis underpinning the intro. That being said, I want as many people ...

Went to the bookshop for the 'kinderboekenweek' (kids book week) and picked up this amazing book where each page has a spinnable disk which shows different critters. You don't see this quality and gimmick very often! They're complex to make, I bet.

Slowly working towards finishing the 'beach' variant to the 'sea' version of the baby cloths. I couldn't sit on the floor nor do any measuring/cutting of yardage for a very long while so these lagged behind.

Hello! Long time no post.

Here’s a recent bust from Mindwork Studio I painted.
The background was a bit of work but I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.

Shoutout to the guy who wouldn't stop yapping throughout a movie and *chased* me when I left to complain to staff (after not having spoken to him at all, could’ve gone for a toilet break. He knew he was an a-hole, it was unbelievable.)

Movies are too expensive nowadays to suffer pigs.
You know they're just gonna wash it through an entire hollywood entertainment industry for a few decades until evil is only done by caricatures and not by people looking just like them. The infallible heroes look like them, of course. Always.

It's what they did with ww2 already.

This says something about AI helping people 'unlock their creativity', doesn't it? Because you don't get slammed with a warning if you weren't asking the system to mimic others, right?

But we know creative people don't use the slop machines anyway since they don't need it...

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.
Anyway, good article with insights to Bluesky history.
