Sweet budgies (so fun to draw!) When I was much younger, my siblings and I got a cute budgie as a companion for my grandfather. He named the wee fella, 'Pete'. Not the most common of names for a budgie, perhaps but Pete didn't mind 🦜

I don’t even particularly enjoy a lot of classic lit - took me like 3 months to finish dracula - but a lot of GR users are SO dismissive of historical importance. “it revolutionized the genre but it was boring so i think it’s stupid and worthless” I grew out of that after high school come on
every time a goodreads review pisses me off I have to remember it’s the app that nominated basically nothing but reskinned harry potter fanfic for an entire category of its awards this year and the community gave fourth wing a 5 star rating

I really would like to combine the two and do movement ecology research but I think any kind of stable employment would require being a tenured academic. I couldn’t even find a master’s position
watched too much blue planet as a kid -> marine bio degree -> no fucking jobs -> “GIS is super employable!” -> GIS grad certificate -> One Job

as much as i've bitched and moaned the whole time it's *extremely* satisfying seeing all your art displayed nicely on something you built yourself. would recommend.
pushed the update if anyone's interested! neocities won't let me host mp3s though so no sound button sfx. considering cloning this for a guest art gallery where i can put art fight pieces....

very cool but I feel like there’s kind of an increasing desire to like. prima facie classify any advanced foraging techniques as “tool use” because it’s become such a cultural signifier of animal intelligence. it can almost seem like you’re denigrating a species’ intelligence to say otherwise
