A reminder that tens of millions of people are being exposed to dangerous levels of wildfire smoke again this summer.

Wildfire smoke can be up to 10 times more harmful to people than other sources of smog

Proud to share our paper describing two large Li Fraumeni cohorts with a wide variety of hematologic malignancies, some with surprisingly good outcomes:

Practice-changing RCT at #ISTH2025 Late-Breaking Clinical Trial!!!

In acute VTE patients, apixaban therapy led to less clinically-relevant bleeding than rivaroxaban for the first 3 months of therapy. Kudos to Dr Castellucci and colleagues. #COBRRA-VTE

Can’t say I didn’t expect #VERONA to be negative but still disappointing. Just had to do a hospice conversation with a patient with high risk #MDS. We desperately need new therapies for this disease.

In 2025, about 1 in 5 cancers diagnosed in the U.S. will be considered rare. Though uncommon individually, rare cancers impact over 400,000 people each year. This weekend, the Beacon of Hope shines in zebra stripes to honor Rare Disease Day and those affected by rare cancers.

Today is #rare disease day. Many of the cancers we treat are rare diseases. #NIH and #NCI funding is critical to support research on rare diseases specifically.
