Indeed. But in real life, you have to establish your priorities. A parallel: in 1935 it was more important for the US and the UK to develop the B-17 & B-29 and the Lancaster bombers for the 1940s than to focus primarily on the B-52 or V-bombers of the 1950s. Their time came- later.
