Today it’s important to reflect on balancing our circle of concern with our circle of influence. There are some things beyond our control. And if we spend too much energy focused on those things, we won’t have the energy to make the impact where we are most needed and influential.

Some people think that proximity to whiteness will protect them from the fallout of racism. All they end up doing is being a mouthpiece for what they want to say and can reference it as "I didn't say it, this minority did"

The model minority myth is a ploy but guess what you're still not white.
POC’s desperate proximity to Whiteness will forever be dangerous.

Email from Snapchat my account was permanently locked for violating community standards. I found it odd because I never created a Snapchat account. I go through the steps to recover and it's some dude named Mark Brown. So that means Snapchat lets you create an account without verifying email

It never was. The Democratic party WAS the party of the Klan. The civil rights act WAS ratified by the Republican party JFK just happened to be president at the time. Party loyalists viewed it as betrayal and formed Dixiecrats GOP welcomed them and Dems became "progressive" by default.
I hate that we’re even using the term “purity.” People want a candidate who will stand up for people in marginalized groups, like trans folks and homeless folks. That’s not “purity.” It’s taking care of people. It used to be the Democratic Party’s position.
Every single day, some lib gets on here and bitches about leftists but never mention what these purity tests surround.

BNMW has broken people’s brains, and removed all ability to critique a shit party or have any empathy for marginalized people asking your party for protection.

This attitude sucks

Ever go to a leasing office and you can tell by their demeanor they are just not thrilled about the prospect of leasing to you. I'll probably have to send a non-melanated colleague to get the 411 on the place.

It's so weird the overwhelming MAJORITY (80%) of the US population lives in an urban environment. So how does living in a city not make you a *real" representative of the nation. If anything too many concessions are made for rural needs.
Do other countries have this weird notion that you’re not a “real” representative of the nation if you live in an urban center? Like do the French say Parisians aren’t really French? Are you considered not a real German if you live in Berlin? Or is this mainly a weird American thing?

They think because they're using dog whistles we don't know it. But we see it held to their lips as they're blowing hard.

DEI hire
Woke

The words change but we know what they're REALLY saying.
They’ve all eagerly adapted “woke” as a pejorative because, no matter what, it’s important people know you’re not a dreaded n-word lover.

At this point in my startup's life, I've come to realize I'm not just working on a cool idea, I'm running a business. Everything I do, every decision I make has to be taken within the context of making this company viable. Especially since this is being bootstrapped I can't afford to waste effort.

Baby you're like my favorite sled. I wanna whisper your name with my dying breath.
I’m dating for long-term/forever commitment.

And I phrase it that way b/c growth & evolving is understanding that “forever” looks different for some women.

For some, it involves marriage.
For others, it’s love w/o marriage.

I welcome either scenario…as long as her name is my last breath on earth.
If you’re dating — are you dating to marry?

I switched phones recently from iPhone to Pixel (Android). And the most irritating aspect of it is that I can't wholesale transfer the one time password settings from Microsoft Authenticator on the iPhone to the android. I have like fifteen OTPs and have to reestablish one by one on the new phone

Brother that is the best definition of love I've ever read

That's the entire point of his shock and awe tactics oversaturated the news cycle with so much cruft that we become number to it. Like who is surprised this happened?
So, this happened😱 no one is talking about it.

My daughter mentioned to me that she has recurring nightmares about active shooter drills becoming real.

She mentioned it must be like the nuclear duck and cover drills we did in the 80s. I explained the difference is we didn't have nuclear bombs dropping every other day so it wasnt real to us.
i don't think this is even a real statistical anomaly anymore. it seems like there's someone in the crowd at every mass shooting who has been through it before. this doesn't have to be our shared cultural experience.

Thank you joy because we all see this buffoon for what he is. He wasn't even a good sports analyst. He was just loud wrong and obnoxious. And that is exactly why he's getting paid to be a racist mouthpiece that they get to say "well it was a Black guy who said it"

They just want to go back to simpler times where people who didn't fit in with their standards were locked up in passed cells and given shock therapy
then, the transphobes , feeling victorious at how many people they have made unhappy and despairing in the previous week, move on to anything else that has a spectrum and the possibility of more colours than they can conceive - such hateful people - they cannot understand anything that is not THEM

Finally fired up Marvel Cosmic Invasion. Wolverine is my favorite character so far. He literally will jump on a guy slice him up with his claws and throw him across the screen. Paired with Captain America as my favorite team. It reminds me of X-Men Arcade and Captain America and the Avengers.

Got a rejection letter that was so generic, they addressed it to someone else. Funniest thing. I hadn't actually applied for a specific job. Had just been talking with one of their officers. I think the random letter from some recruiter I never interacted with was more insulting than being ghosted.

Michael Jordan was an amazing player. But LeBron is the GOAT. This coming from a Bulls fan. That this is a contentious statement shows that people listen to emotions rather than facts.
LeBron James put up eight points in the Lakers 123-120 win over the Raptors.

It's the first time since 2007 he hasn't reached 10 points in a regular season game.
