So then, the drunk District Attorney from Monroe County said, "Well, I think, yeah, I was..I didn't pull over. I just figured I'd drive to my driveway instead. It's a big fat issue. Ha ha ha!"

It's not often that "simple morality" and "effective politics" line up so perfectly, but we have to hope DC's Democrats are smart enough to seize the moment with both hands

Every single congressional Democrat needs to be out there, right now, insisting that Pete Hegseth resign right now and announcing that he will be held accountable for committing war crimes.

If you do not demand accountability here and now, they will only become more emboldened.
Exclusive: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth gave an order to “kill everybody” in the first strike on suspected drug boats in the Caribbean. After two men survived, the mission commander ordered a second strike to comply with Hegseth’s instructions, according to two sources.

given how unpopular Trump is, it’s insane that civil society/universities/law firms are still asking themselves “how do I stay on Trump’s good side” rather than “how do I avoid facing consequences for complying with Trump’s illegal demands”

Kristi Noem and Hegseth both thrown under the bus this week.

She was blamed for disobeying judges orders and not turning the plane with 230+ immigrants around back to the US.

Hegseth blamed for ordering the murder of Venezuelan fisherman.

This is one of those why!? moments. The Trump administration abruptly halted an FDA effort that was designed to keep asbestos out of talc-based cosmetics.

This is almost word for word what xenophobes in the 1930s and 1940s said about Miller's Jewish ancestors and relatives. He's so hateful he couldn't possibly recognize that of course.
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization

Based on the likely outcomes of their policies, I'd describe the Republican agenda this way:

1) Identify as Christians, while ignoring the teachings of Jesus.

2) Own the liberals.

3) Glorify cruelty.

4) Hasten the death of life on this planet.

3/ "Even if the U.S. were at war with the traffickers, an order to kill all the boat’s occupants if they were no longer able to fight 'would in essence be an order to show no quarter, which would be a war crime,' said Huntley, now director of the national security law program at Georgetown Law."

2/ "Because there is no legitimate war between the two sides, killing any of the men in the boats 'amounts to murder,' said Todd Huntley, a former military lawyer who advised Special Operations forces for seven years at the height of the U.S. counterterrorism campaign."

GUARDIAN: “Per head, 🇺🇸 output is six times China’s, and yet, inexplicably, there seem to be more abjectly poor Americans than Chinese. 🇺🇸 inequality is breathtaking… keeps getting worse…”

Wanting to address this isn’t radical.

NOT wanting to is.

I can’t listen to him speak.
Now it’s almost unbearable to even read his words.

It is unforgivable that he was elected to his position. Not once. Twice.

Profoundly unforgivable.

I get it but actually insurance is not like anything else we ever buy. It’s like if we paid the grocery store regularly but sometimes went three years without eating anything but a salad every six months, and then got in a car accident and needed five years worth of celery in an hour.
Imagine paying a large monthly fee to shop at a supermarket, then paying again for the actual groceries, then getting an extra charge months later because one ingredient in an item you bought came from a farmer associated with a different store.

This post is about healthcare.
