His work in films that would never even be touched by the Oscars is what gives him this title imo. The Taking of Pelham 123 (2009) is terrible compared to its source but Washington still makes it compelling.

Criterion Channel has a “family reunion” collection live now and it’s been great so far. Rachel Getting Married is a great movie.

Rewatched this recently and still love it! The Arrow release is fantastic and the booklet is amazing.

Just listened to Alan Tudyk hint at the show maybe being cancelled (or at least not knowing) on Comedy Bang Bang a few weeks ago. Such a bummer, he was clearly having such a great time with the show

Rolled credits on Nightreign today, cannot believe that From Software was able to translate their formula into a multiplayer game like this. So good.

While The Amateur disappointed, there were some really over-the-top moments that I really enjoyed. Just felt like it couldn’t find a consistent tone.
A ★★½ review of The Amateur (2025)
if you’re going to make a jigsaw origin story maybe name it appropriately

I saw PUP and Jeff Rosenstock in Athens, GA when their separate tours intersected there in 2016 or 2017 and it was sooooo good. So excited to see Ekko Astral in September as well.

If you paid for HBO through your cable subscription, HBO Now was the digital platform that let you log in with your cable account and access HBO. HBO Go was when they allowed a normal subscription that anyone could sign up for online. Don’t know why those were separate for a time but they were.

“They give us half a life and expect us not to fight for it” is one of the hardest lines I’ve ever heard and I’ve seen all of Justified

Loved Heart Eyes!!! It’s truly a rom-com and a slasher. It’s not just one with flavors of the other. I really loved how earnest all of that was, I loved the humor, loved the kills, loved the romance. Josh Ruben has “no problem” making great movies but this is his best yet.
If you saw Heart Eyes and love it, post about it. It’s a lower mid-level budget that is depending on word-of-mouth. We had a solid opening on a VERY difficult weekend to open on. We could use some chatter, now. And thank you if you already have been. 😍

It has a ton of problems narratively and tonally but Ke Huy Quan is genuinely amazing in it and I loved the fight/action sequences. I’m glad I caught it in theaters!
