This.

And let's understand the real-world effect of his theory in this fraught political moment: Congress taking a sledgehammer to bedrock environmental safeguards w/the conceit that if we free capital to build everything anywhere all at once it'll somehow work out for the public.

It won't.

Greatly appreciate @chrisrogersca.bsky.social for authoring this bill and Asm Ramos, @asmdianepapan.bsky.social , @bauerkahan.bsky.social and Asm Bennett for speaking in support on the floor.
Today, AB 263 cleared the Assembly overwhelmingly. Our bill, in partnership with local tribes and fishermen, maintains minimum flow requirements on major tributaries to the Klamath until permanent regulations are in place, protecting endangered coho and chinook. On to the Senate!

My first town hall. So impressed at the vast array of issues covered by @chrisrogersca.bsky.social including my favorite: saving salmon. #AB263

Great to have the Karuk Tribe talk about Klamath Dam removal and protecting flows on the Scott and Shasta Rivers at the #SalmonStrategy Roundtable. #AB263 ( @chrisrogersca.bsky.social )

Three bills out of committee today - AB 1378, which allows the department of social services to partner with tribes to provide preventative services, and AB 928, which cracks down on gamefowl breeding for the purpose of cockfighting, both passed out of committees on bipartisan votes.

Hey Cali? I know we're mad at Newsom right now, but can you please turn your attention to AB1038, which would legalize using packs of hunting dogs with GPS collars to chase bears in the wild? This article explains the issue very well. TLDR: hazing bears in the wild = worse for bears and humans.
California is considering letting hunting dogs attack bears
A bill proposed by Calif. Assemblymember Heather Hadwick seeks to make it legal for hunters to sic trained hounds on bears, sparking outrage.

California’s black bears are clever, resourceful and opportunistic. They eat anything and everything — fruits, nuts, insects, human food and pet food. They love bird feeders. They poach mountain lion kills — such as deer — that they find. It’s called kleptoparasitism. They can use their bottom teeth to work open an unlocked car door. If they find a way into your house and kitchen, they can open jars of peanut butter and jam and, of course, honey.
