Just a little sneak peek :)

$Taking a deep, shuddering breath, Lilith kept her eyes closed, but she touched The Weave, drawing on her preternatural proprioceptions. She saw the threads of reality. She filtered through them, until she isolated the threads between herself and Elara. She tried to ignore the sour feeling it gave her. Lilith never did this. Looking at the threads of others felt almost like a violation, even if anyone with the Sight to See them was capable of it. But looking at her own threads was something Lilith never tried before. She was afraid that she had no connections in The Weave. That, as a demon, any connections she made would wither or corrode away, taking the people that got tied up in Lilith's life with them. But there they were, bright and strong. Elara's threads seemed to be holding onto Lilith's. Most notably, there was the dark, saturated pink of love. Elara's side of the thread was pure, unmarred. But Lilith's was frayed, edged in a numbing grey that seemed to want to overtake all of her other threads, too. It even seemed to Lilith that Elara's threads were trying to repair Lilith's, the frayed, chaotic strands of Lilith's psyche almost being fused like old rope. An almost imperceptible fraction of the depressive grey receded, Lilith's strands glowing brighter, even if microscopically. "You see it now, don't you?" Elara whispered in her ear, causing Lilith to jump a little. The water was off now, and Lilith was now, apparently, drip-drying in the stall, with Elara behind her, clad in a towel around her waist and nothing else. "How do you do that?" Lilith asked, opening her eyes to look into Elara's kind, playful ones. "Read you like a book? You keep the pages wide open, dear Lilith."$

I've kinda started thinking of my writing style as similar to Toriyama Akira's 'and-therefore' style, but I've had a conception of how the entire saga goes since 2017.

Currently working on a novella to strengthen Lilith and Elara's bonds, then I plan on doing one to help me get into Rudy and Raven's heads! I'm doing some practice learning the character's voices so I can write the next book in the series properly.

I have a cast of 5 main characters, 4 protagonists, and 1 antagonist. There's Rudy, Lilith, Elara, and Raven, who are a found-family group. Then, there's Julius, a high-ranking priest of an insidious cult. He may or may not defect, you'll have to find out! ;)

#WipSnips! Today's word: "Steel"!

Lilith remembered the first time she saw it. She nearly dropped the Kill Bill novel in her hand trying to pick her jaw up from the floor.
She shook herself out of the memory as Elara began unbuckling her pants. Oh, no… Lilith always had to steel herself for this part. A second, much deeper wound presented itself, tracing from midway down her thigh to just below her buttock. Lilith had noted its corresponding deeper, almost purple-ish red after Elara had unwrapped it herself. It traced its way from midway through her thigh, to just below Elara’s buttock. Cleaning it was an intimate task, and Lilith always left the room feeling like she had just diffused a bomb. Tonight proved to be no different. She already had goosebumps.

I'll be revising Emergence along with the help of my beta-readers up until launch day (December 25th!) but I've got a sappy, sapphic story, The Angel and The Demon, set just after Emergence, posted to ScribbleHub for free! I can't make myself not write as if it's canon, but it's just for fun lol
