Read this out aloud at the COP11!
"It’s groupthink in its purest form: consensus at any cost, dissent suppressed, alternatives dismissed. In this atmosphere, truth becomes secondary to institutional comfort."

Groupthink Is Killing Tobacco Harm Reduction in Australia
Organized crime is thriving. Public trust is collapsing. Adults are criminalized for quitting cigarettes the wrong way. And yet the official narrative repeats: “We are protecting public health.”

Decline NZ smoking rates greatly accelerated after 2020 when Kiwis made safer nicotine vapes easier to get than deadly cigarettes. Kiwis have no vape black market which is huge in Australia @aliveadvocacy.bsky.social
❌ WHO’s abstinence-only policies are failing.
✅ New Zealand: smoking down from 16.4% (2011) to 6.9% (2024).
❌ Australia: prohibition fuels black markets.
Evidence is clear. #TobaccoHarmReduction #COP11

Especially as Australian Wastewater analysis results (just released) show recent increased levels, thereby supporting increasing illicit tobacco use &/or increased vaping (which is >90% illicit in Australia). No help for ex BUGAUP Mastermind @aliveadvocacy.bsky.social
At which point do we stop declaring (with hubris) our amazing smoking statistics when they are likely to be grossly inaccurate because many consuming non tax-earning stock.

Exactly!! every tax hike just fattens the black market. Smokers don’t quit because prices go up, they just switch to cheaper illicit supply. Canberra pretends it’s “public health,” but really it’s a subsidy for gangs and smugglers. Ordinary Aussies lose, organised crime wins.
