This is wonderful. AI imagery is polluting both visual history and the real-world environment. Blockity-block-block!

And remember: reporting and blocking AI content is even better than a duty - it's a pleasure.

For my new followers on Bluesky, keep in mind many of us won’t even see your profile if you have a generative AI profile pic, banner, or regularly post AI images.

Subscribing to the aimod moderation list below blocks almost all of it and is fantastic.

To recap:
- community action;
- a plan made;
- industrial lands remediated;
- a river moved;
- an island made;
- lands made green & nature returns;
- Indigenous people named the island;
- a bridge built & floated into place;
- art & culture floats down the river.
.
✨Some dream level stuff! ✨

Felt moved, joy & pride.
All at the same time.

I was there yesterday. There is also a'clicking noise component to it also, when there is a gentle breeze blowing as there was then. A building with a fringe on it! How wonderful!

Fringe? On a building?!
Yes! And it sways calmingly in the wind.

Designed to evoke a dancer’s shawl, in part by Indigenous Architecture firm Two Row, this is the new Indigenous Health Centre operated by Anishnawbe Health Toronto.

The lover of nature is he whose inward and outward senses are still truly adjusted to each other; who has retained the spirit of infancy even into the era of manhood ..

In the woods, is perpetual youth.

Three times in one week. These are dark times, my friends.
Upon Seeing The Saint George's Flag Next To Anti-Refugee Graffiti Again This Week

Sometimes I wonder what Saint George, a man who had a Palestinian mother and a Turkish father,
a man who gave away his possessions to the poor and the sick, to those most in need of aid, a man who was taken as a prisoner of war and tortured, would think
that a flag in his name is flown by a country that is sending arms to destroy his mother's homeland while using that same flag as a symbol to say that those who need asylum most
are enemies who are not welcome here.

"In 2020, [Portland, OR] approved building [middle housing] on lots zoned for single family homes... A new report from the City says, it's working. 1,400 new units built in just a few years and each one is $300,000 less expensive than a typical single family home." @nbcnews.com

THIS JUST IN: #Canada's government is going ahead with Alto, a high-speed rail line between #Quebec City and #Toronto.

Trains to reach speeds of up to 300 kilometres (186 mph) per hour.

20 million people, half Canada's population, live in this corridor.

"Mary-Two-Axe-Earley Station"

Awesome name for a métro station!

After a Mohawk woman who led 1985 fight to amend the Indian Act after losing her status for marrying a non-Indigenous man.

Today #Montreal unveiled names for 5 new stations on Blue Line

Alright, so I've been afraid to say this out loud, but I think after today, I can say it: In the first Battle of Los Angeles, the good people of LA County have prevailed. We beat ICE back. 1/

Channing Tatum gets it: "I mean, Toronto is dope.... when I worked here and got to live here, riding a bike around was like my favorite thing on the weekends. You just sort of mob around, everyone's on bikes, everyone's sorta you just go to restaurants and bars"
