The true journalism scandal is a pathological liar can’t ask for better propaganda than a headline that’s just what he said as if it’s true and the entirety of the story is just his quote with zero context or explanation or skepticism, all published under the name of an established news brand

I’m skeptical that this Venezuela stuff is an elaborate plot to steal oil.

Rubio has been on this for years. Fits with migrant/gang/drugs domestic propaganda, Trump/Hegseth bullying lawbreaking, and more.

Oil isn’t irrelevant, but sounds like recycled Iraq war theories, which weren’t right either.

Joel teaches at a private university in a blue state! No one is safe!
I was told not to teach a class on the intellectual histories of Zionism and Anti-Zionism next year - not because they doubted I could teach it fairly, but because it would attract too many politicians scrutinizing the syllabus.

A society where that is a valid fear is no longer fully democratic.

A bus of Bronx middle schoolers pulled up to the Capitol this morning for a long-planned field trip just a few hours after the government shut down.

All Capitol tours were cancelled as the guides can’t work in shutdown.

So I escorted them in myself and gave them a personal tour. They were great!
