She screams, “I’m 15,” as ICE yanks her from the car and kneels on her neck.

Video below ⬇️
Joshua Reed Eakle via X (@JoshEakle): In Chicago, four vehicles descended and eight ICE agents moved in to kidnap a child.

She screams, “I’m 15,” as ICE yanks her from the car and kneels on her neck.

This is not about immigration enforcement.

It's about terrorizing Americans.

This is appalling 🤬

ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify family.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

@albomp.bsky.social says #FOI costs the Govt too much. When I FOI’ed Treasury in 2023 for briefs it had provided Jim Chalmers on stage 3 tax cuts, the Govt spent $53K resisting public disclosure. They lost! The taxpayers lost! FOI is not costing too much - Govt secrecy is. #auspol

Yet another problem with the idea of a 1-3 hour 'assessment' in an NDIS participant's home is that it doesn't acknowledge the existence of dynamic disabilities i.e. disabilities where one can have (relatively) "good days" (or hours) and "bad days" and "nonfunctional days".

De Brouwer made the exact same argument two years ago after the Robodebt Royal Commission report was delivered. This is how I treated it in Mean Streak: "Grow up."
Screenshot of the book Mean Streak by Rick Morton. The text reads:

for the past decade and half, when conclusive certificates were
discontinued, is counterproductive to the Parliament’s intent.
‘When it comes to deliberative material, FoI does not ensure
transparency (because advice is not being written) and it
undermines integrity (because advice is not being written).’
So officials don’t put things in writing because they might get
released under Freedom of Information laws, therefore the FoI
laws aren’t working?
Grow up.
De Brouwer is not alone in his views. Former secretaries have
been doing the rounds making exactly these kinds of noises, as if
the outcome of poor professional behaviour is the result of some
law and not … poor professional behaviour.

And equally, is the Epstein game a distraction from turning the USA into a police state?

There can’t be this much damage to Trump from releasing them, given his people don’t care.

Maybe it’s the inverse.

I was a skeptic about the import of the Epstein files.

But 3 invasions of cities, one military buildup outside Venezuela, a government shutdown, and so many other things meant to distract have me convinced whatever’s in there is the biggest presidential scandal in U.S. history.

The Australian National Press Club's decision to cancel Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Chris Hedges' address is shameful. He was to speak on Israel's murder of journalists in Gaza and the media's silence on this. #IsraeliWarCrimes #JournalismMatters

Have kept digging into the Optus triple zero outage (not the one last night) but they're now doing that crisis management thing of saying they won't answer any questions about it because of the independent review that is due to report back by the end of the year.
