The Ghost On The Beach album is great. But it's been out of print since the late 1980s and has never been available for streaming. One of the band has posted that album - as well as an unreleased follow-up album - on his YouTube channel.

Also, St. Paul. Directly south of St. Paul is the town of West St. Paul. And directly east of West St. Paul is South St. Paul.

Whoever designed the streets in Minneapolis must have been a very drunk Irishman.
Washington Avenue South and Washington Avenue Southeast running parallel to one another two blocks separated

Maybe, but it's not on streaming. Honestly, they were one of the best live bands I ever saw, and I spent my college years in L.A. watching everyone from The Clash to The Ramones at the Whiskey. The Insiders released a great good live album "Live At Fitzgerald's," which is worth checking out.

I have written a couple of pieces along these lines. But as unhappy as some people are with these moves, asking them to boycott Apple products is a bit like asking them to hack off an arm or leg

Probably 1,000 times more. Greenwood had a string of hits in the 1980s (maybe 7 #1 country hits?), but the last single to hit the top 40 was in 1991. So he's had a long dry spell.

Thanks! I was wondering about this. I suddenly had a bunch of people subscribing to my newsletter directly from Google. That explains it.

Was reading a really interesting piece on Cher's disco years. And it made me realize that I'd love to read an in-depth career-spanning interview with her.

Okay, tbh, I'd love to do that interview with her. #BucketList

It was released ten years after these other albums, but I have always really enjoyed Chicago's Slammin' Watusis (and they had a great live show)

Uggg. Still not as useless as the small palm tree Fox sent to me a few years back. Which wasn't especially helpful here in MN.

For me, I'd lean in the Springsteen direction. Partly because as I have aged, I have found different songs of his hit me in new ways. For instance, I was fairly lukewarm about his "Tunnel Of Love" album. Until I was married & going through a tough patch. Then it really resonated with me.

For me, the answer is a duo no one's heard of: John Siegle & Gary Yerkins from the Chicago band Insiders

"She appeared like a suggestion/But I didn't really want to/I've been falling short of things I could hold on to"

"When she touched my hand, I felt like I was drowning"

It's funny you mention this, because I once interviewed Nicks and she said basically the same thing. She told me McVie was much better than anyone else in the band when it came to writing hit songs, while doing it in a way that was nuanced and unpredictable

SWIFT: Trav, honey?
KELCE: (looks up from first edition Krazsnahorkai in original Hungarian) (pauses rare Steve Reich LP, Japanese pressing) Yes?
SWIFT: What rhymes with "thighs"?
KELCE: Hmm. "Belies," perhaps?
SWIFT: (under her breath) Oh for fuck's sake
