Utter drivel from Euractiv on Spain, as usual. The govt has got most of its legislation through this year and we're almost at the end of the parliamentary session anyway. And Sánchez's wife is not facing trial as she hasn't been charged with anything
November 26, 2025 at 7:52 AM
If Sánchez calls an election early next year and you are surprised, you can't say you weren't warned

YouTube just served me a certain antipodean "Spain expert" explaining that there's a lot of slow and inefficient bureaucracy here😱🤢

a moron who thinks wanting to be tried by a jury is gaming the system. next, wanting to be tried at all is gaming the system, let AI decide the sentence because the cops wdn't have arrested you if you weren't guilty
It comes after our @jessicaelgot.bsky.social revealed that criminals will be stopped from “gaming the system” by choosing trial by jury to increase chances of proceedings collapsing - and that govt was planning radical changes to limit jury trials by next election.

Always said Lammy was a fucking moron
💥Jury trials for all except most serious crimes such as rape, murder and manslaughter set to be scrapped under radical proposals drawn up by David Lammy.

Proposals drew swift backlash from senior lawyers who said they would not reduce court backlogs & could “destroy justice as we know it”.

this the first time I've seen a Spanish journo saying outloud what has been obvious for months: 229 people died in the Valencia floods bc the regional leader Carlos Mazón was too busy to issue a warning in time bc he was fucking in a car park
Alucinante que ninguno de los dos, adultos de 50 años, cayera en que no era el mejor día para echar un polvo furtivo en un parking. A él por supuesto hay que tirarlo por la ventana pero ella cabeza, tampoco.

Right-neofascist bloc on 48% Social democrats-left at 38%. Who forms a govt will be decided by the regional nationalists. And the popularity of the right and neofascists suggests that a booming economy doesn't make people happy

PSOE-S&D: 28% (+1)

it will not be the same situation as in Israel bc there is no civil marriage for opposite sex or same faith marriages either, the state only recognises marriages done in yr national-religious community (blame the Ottomans) and gives some recognition to common law relationships
Usually, residency isn't required to obtain a marriage license in an EU country.

So what today's EU's supreme court ruling does is put Eastern EU (and 🇮🇹) in the same gay marriage category as 🇮🇱.

I don't share Corbyn's views (to put it mildly) but I admire his view of politics as a moral, lifelong vocation. Too many dilletantes and gap year activists in left politics

The lawyer who's leading the fake union Manos Limpios's persecution of Sánchez's wife quits bc he's realised, better late than never, that the charges against her are politically motivated. No doubt Euractiv and the FT will reconsider their reporting of this matter

it's a common experience when you've been on the receiving end of a racist jibe to be told that it was just a bit of fun and you're the one making the problem by objecting to it
Asked again and again whether he ever racially abused his fellow pupils, as 20 people at his old school have now said he did, Nigel Farage will only say that he never did so in a "hurtful way" or "with intent"

I could be the King of Belgium in two years, it's as likely as any of Sam and Jony's promises to come true
Sam Altman and Jony Ive say they have settled on a design for OpenAI's device, speaking to Laurene Powell Jobs; Ive says it could debut in "less than" two years (Stevie Bonifield/The Verge)

I can see a consensus forming that the blame for all Labour's disastrous policy decisions lies with the Irishman and the Jew. Maybe it might be more useful to ask how come the Labour party elite listens to them and why it has no social democratc ideas of its own

Over many interviews, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Michael Scherer about how he plans to remake America’s public-health system. Can he lead the scientific establishment he’s spent much of his life crusading against?

Yep. Not much money left after paying for the nuke program and the rockets and help for the Houthis and Hezbollah
Authoritarian states facing popular backlash often move their capitals away from where people protest them: Yangon -> Naypyidaw, Cairo -> NAC, and now Tehran -> ???. Don't let the regime pretend it's about anything else - the ecological problems are always due to the regime's own mismanagement.

FWIW, RUMINT, but pretty reliable:

1. Vance key to US embrace of Russia plan on Ukraine, Rubio (and even Trump) out of the loop.

2. Vance-Rubio relations “awful.”

3. Rubio told the senators exactly what they said he told them.

4. Hegseth paranoid he’ll be shoved out, Driscoll will replace him.

As I have said 598 times before the real problem is not the Brexit nutters, it's the notionally pro-Rejoin,supposedly cosmopolitan commentariat and "trade expert" elite. Like the Bourbons they've learned nothing and forgotten nothing
Jon Freedlamd in the G.

Are these on offer?

The customs union is reserved for members. Full stop. So not that.

And SM for goods only? Europe will wanr ita own say in how the UK integrates. It won't just allow cherry-picking.
