ICE just shot another one of my neighbors. They had the person on the ground, being beaten by several agents, and then fired multiple shots. In front of the donut shop where we like to get donuts for our kids.

I don’t think people quite understand that the occupation by ICE in the Twin Cities has more or less erased non-white people from public life. They cannot safely exist in any space accessible to the public and moving between private places leaves folks vulnerable to kidnapping by armed masked goons.

Is it worth reading The Lord of the Rings if I hated The Hobbit? Does the series significantly improve (i.e. not just a bunch of 2-D characters surrounding one character with depth)? That was far from my only complaint about The Hobbit, but it was the biggest.

None of the mice had the number eight on its back, though every other number from one to twelve was there. “Did something happen to one of the mice?” “What’s that?” Dr. Hollier asked. “Mouse number eight isn’t there.” “I’m sure one of the other researchers just took him to run some tests.” “There’s an ‘X’ by his number.” “Which just means we need to run more tests. Go on and step into the booth now.” Gabby sighed but only faintly. She didn’t want to offend Dr. Hollier, but she also felt the researchers were hiding something from her and the other participants.

My friends and coworkers often ask me if Natives celebrate Thanksgiving. Some do, and some don't. It just depends. This shirt kind of sums up how I feel. Fvkit (pronounced "fuck it") means "turkey" in Choctaw. (I'm a vegetarian, though.)
