They are making some progress despite MC's best efforts

Probably when the first body that goes into the water once they're there, and their client showing up and reminding them of the cost should they fail.
Or possibly discovering the identity of said corpse, which is a bit of a surprise but not really.

Again, not super clear on this. There will be a lot of finding out how the temple works, which is very new for MC as it's not even her religion technically. As for the about herself part, it's continued from the last arc.

(Sorry I got distracted actually writing)
I'm not sure this arc quite fits the 3 act structure, but I guess this would be when the group essentially infiltrate the temple. Happens pretty early though.

Yay another spinosaurus fan
It would have been her sister in the past, but at this point, I don't know. She's afraid of getting attached at this point, because she's afraid of hurting herself or hurting the other person.
(Her friends, for their part, are trying to drag her out of it)

Tell me about your character's most significant platonic relationship or relationships!

Do bonds with close friends, mentors or companions play a significant role in the story?

#WriteSky #WritingCommunity #WritingPrompts
Do they get better with age? (I am asking because any length of time would be significant if you're just born. I think.)
Not exactly. She knows she needs to wait for plans to work, but she is also aware of the million different ways they can go wrong. The trouble is she is a bit of an overly cautious overthinker, not that she's impatient exactly.
others who are equally inexperienced are sent to the temple to investigate.
MC is basically starting to panic at this point given the last big arc's events.
#PlotTober 16
MC's workplace is basically told that they are given a job to investigate bodies being thrown—or rather placed—in the river. They have to take the job, and can't ask anyone else because the person who gave them the job says so. Due to the nature of the job, MC and a couple of

Nice place to end the thread
She is patient but she is not calm while she's waiting, if that makes sense. She's very good at not showing her emotions so that helps.

Is your character patient?

Do they set plans in motion that take time to unfold? Do they carefully weigh their options? Do they delay gratification?

Or do they prefer to jump into things immediately?

will do her best to not get into situations where she has to take orders.
She has a bit of a trauma response to it after all.

She would follow orders if given them, and not rebel openly. She will find ways to follow the words and not the spirit of it if necessary. She will avoid following orders she doesn't agree with when she can do so without getting caught. And she

How is your character at taking orders?

Do they prefer that someone else make the decisions? Are they a rebel? Do they avoid the whole situation whenever possible? Would they rather be giving the orders?

This would be where another body is found, MC manages to narrow it down to a couple of suspects, and the realisation hits.
(Realisation of what I won't say and you will not get it out of me but every possible option is a different kind of horror for her)

He has stated on several occasions that he knows precisely what burns and is capable of controlling the damage his fire does.
I don't think you should believe him.
(Anyway there are a couple of characters who can put out a fire so it balances out)

I have a few ideas floating around for how to end this arc, but I'm mostly stuck on details, mostly about what happens to antagonist in the end.
It'll be a massive scandal either way, with the effects being felt for a while.

in this world and most long distance travel is by train or ship, which means that they can get some space.
That also means they resident pyromaniac may be left unsupervised but you can't have everything.

Depends on how close they're forced to stay. The MC will probably read or nap or pretend to nap. However there are two characters in the cast who love bickering, which usually annoys everyone else because they keep going around in circles.
Fortunately cars are very rare

Ok about to have a long drive. Might post this and dip for a bit (but I will be back!)

So, tell me how your characters keep themselves occupied during a long horse/car/ship trip!

Games? Stories? Podcasts?

The trouble is, it doesn't 'know' it's inventing stuff. It's a probability machine.
I don't know which one I'd vote for, if you're taking votes.
