Another catch up review! This one I read as part of the WWP book club. Super cool novella!
Goodreads review of Coward by Ayrton Silva. Review text: This was a really entertaining short read! We're thrown straight into a brutal and bloody world where humans live in constant fear of mutant-like giant and aggressive beasts. Our main POV, Lina, is very bored with her relatively unremarkable life and practically runs toward danger when reports of a new monstrous animal stalking the village reaches the tavern she works at. We're given enough details to feel the atmosphere and get a good feel for the enormous centipede-like beast as well as the young woman, Myria, who steps in to slay it when it's clear the town doesn't currently have any professional slayers around. But Myria has her own secrets and Lina has some tough choices ahead to keep her village safe.

Checked my Kindle Content. The book had an update available (why the bloody hell books don't update automatically if one has 'automatic update' enabled is beyond me).

It is indeed 'skin a fish' and not 'sink a fish'.
