This is true, but the fact that I have web galleries, and that they're all superior to my existence on other's timelines in every way, makes me too jaded and fatigued to keep SRTing to try to get more engagements.

TBH, both Bluesky and Twitter are NOT art galleries; they are a continuous scroll where it is quite likely that the majority of your followers will not see what you post.

While I do think art is a communication between the artist and the experiencer, admittedly the only thing that saved my brain from **self-hatred** and Poster's Madness was,
• drawing for my own entertainment/feeling of accomplisment
• posting to leave a record/trail, rather than for the engagement—

I don’t think ppl understand the whole “who cares if nobody likes it! make content for yourself” is extremely dismissive
Bc we ARE making the content for ourselves but it feels /bad/ when people don’t engage or show interest. You can care about both at the same time

I know today can be very hard on a lot of people. There’s so much attention on being with a special loved one, and it can put a lot of weight on someone who recently lost that someone, or has never experienced that love with someone before.
