I live in the San Gabriel Valley of LA County. Near, not in, evac zone of Eaton Fire.

w/Mimi Kim & Enji Chung, I’m fundraising for BIPOC/low-income renters to clean ash and/or move after the fire. To be clear, I’m not a beneficiary.

Please donate and circulate.

NYPD officers attended a training telling them that Palestinian symbols like the watermelon & the keffiyeh, as well as phrases such as “settler colonialism” & “all eyes on Rafah," were antisemitic.

Shameful that so many pushed the IHRA definition of "antisemitism," which was used in this training.
Training for NYPD Officers Categorized the Keffiyeh and Watermelon as…
Experts say the training reinforced a police culture that treats Palestinians and their supporters with suspicion and brutality.

DO NOT RANK CUOMO, WHO WILL LET ICE KIDNAP YOUR FRIENDS, NEIGHBORS, AND MAYBE YOU OFF THE STREET.

DO RANK:

1. Zohran Mamdani
2. Brad Lander
3. Jessica Ramos
4. Zellnor Myrie
5. Adrienne Adams

As our neighbors are being kidnapped off the street and shipped to Louisiana or further afield to foreign gulags, without so much as the pretense that they've broken any law, this mealy mouthed response is the most Cuomo can muster.

Immigration

Should New York City keep its current sanctuary laws or would you revisit them?

Andrew Cuomo
Former governor
As governor, I worked to ensure that New York’s policies were consistent with ICE’s legal mission while also shielding all residents from any ICE enforcement actions that are either illegal or discriminatory. That said, due process and rule of law are paramount, and we do not harbor criminals: If an individual is convicted of a serious crime, they should be subject to deportation.

In April 1983, Reagan declared the first Child Abuse Prevention Month as he slashed social programs & expanded the family policing system that itself abuses children. 42 yrs later, the gov is STILL using this playbook.

So let’s be clear about what child abuse prevention really IS & what it IS NOT ⬇️

Engineers in Chicago have created carbon-negative building materials using seawater, electricity, and CO2. The technique mimics how corals build reefs, and generates substances similar to concrete while permanently sequestering carbon dioxide. buff.ly/Dn8EiXA

we’re so grateful for the strong reaction people are having to Vivian Wilson’s convo w Ella Yurman ❤️‍🔥 @teenvogue.com

it feels worth noting that Elon Musk spent a chunk of the day of his daughter’s first cover story tweeting anti-trans propaganda mixed with anti-journalist memes

Musk ran with the fact that some of the people charged with the Tesla vandalism may be gender non-conforming, suggesting that it pointed to a larger phenomenon of violence perpetrated by trans people.
Tesla's in trouble. Elon blames...trans people?
Musk and his acolytes blame the massive protests on transgender people's supposed penchant for violence.

This case should be a wake up call. Our client has been disappeared and locked up solely based on his tattoos. It is naive to think this kind of incarceration with no chance to refute the charges against you will be limited to asylum seekers. If this goes unchallenged, who could be next?
