New Yorkers deserve better than a disgraced sex pest for mayor.

I think about this from Victor Serge a lot.

One reason it's good for Chi Osse to stay in the council and be focused on city business is there is clearly a bloc of council dems who are anxious to --quietly--stifle Zohran's agenda. He'll need all the friends he can get.

A low-hanging fruit for @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social and the new City Council in their first 100 days would be to approve legislation making outdoor dining year round and have it go into effect immediately. Given all the existing design regulations it should be easy to flip the switch on this.
Thousands of outdoor dining areas might not return to the city's roadways next spring, the result of what activists call a costly approval process created by the Adams administration when the program became seasonal.

From thousands of pandemic-era eateries to perhaps just a few hundred, thanks to a seasonal, not year-round, program.

The work is just getting started!! Let’s go!

I was a fan of C&S when I was a college student emailing to ask for an internship, and I’m still a fan today. Excited to take the helm heading into such a crucial and interesting time in NY politics.

To my pleasant surprise, the New York Times does not abstain from acknowledging the basic fact in this article: Nefesh B'Nefesh promotes settlement in the occupied West Bank.

This is the value of having a mayor elect who is willing to say the truth, it compels the conversation to change bit by bit.

you shouldn't host events at synagogues encouraging people to illegally settle in occupied territory, which is an act that directly interferes in the possibility of a two-state solution. you also shouldn't protest outside a synagogue while chanting "death to" anyone.
Zohran Mamdani chastised a Manhattan synagogue that hosted an event promoting migration to Israel and settlements in occupied territories. His stance further tested his strained relationship with pro-Israel Jews in New York.

The MTA is negligent in making no effort to install these, but massive jury verdicts are the worst way to do cost-benefit analyses. Platform screen doors are complex to retrofit, and the lack of them is tied to political pressure to never cut crew staffing (which are a major benefit of screen doors)

But that’s not the real path to landing a city job. Good stuff, as they say in the trade, from @reuvenblau.bsky.social www.thecity.nyc/2025/11/25/c...

part of what I like about Mamdani is his admission that housing affordability is a more complex problem than either building more housing or expanding rent control. You need to do both in order to protect the most vulnerable now and improve the problem long term.
