Today is an absolute rebuke of anti-transgender politics, and a real sign that the anti-trans panic is fading.

From VA Gov to Loudoun County to New Jersey to New York City and Pennsylvania, anti-trans Republicans are falling left and right.
Democrats are currently ahead in 63 (!!!) races in the Virginia House of Delegates.

If this holds, it would be one of the largest state legislature swings in the last 4 years.

Its an absolute bloodbath for anti-trans Republicans.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

JD Vance said the government had to deport undocumented immigrants because they increase demand for and thus prices of housing for citizens. What they’ve actually accomplished is to decimate construction of new supply, which will definitely increase prices for everyone
America lost 7k construction jobs in August, and overall job growth in the sector is now at its worst pace since the pandemic

Over the last year, the US has lost 31k jobs in residential construction and only gained 78k jobs in nonresidential & civil construction

Somewhere along the way of the infinite growth, “everything app”-ification of the internet people forgot that a website/app can just be one of the many places you go for information, opinions, engagement, etc
Apparently it’s weird when you don’t want to spend your whole day arguing with randoms.

"Most of the people who live outside the city drive cars to work. This is far more dangerous than riding the subway. Last year there were 10 murders in the NYC subway system, with well over a billion total rides taken. During the same time period, there were 253 traffic fatalities in New York City."
The Subway Is Not Scary
Fear of the subway is a mark of low moral character.

A political message I think most left leaning/progressive people could get behind:

We should build more housing in the places people want to live, and we should put more money into the pockets of folks who need it to participate in the market for said housing.
