"Ralph Hubbell has succeeded marvelously in rendering the stream of consciousness of inner offbeat voices within the short stories of the great and notoriously difficult twentieth-century Turkish author Oğuz Atay."

Nice translation praise from MLA's Scaglione Prize committee.

Nasty stuff AI
I went to the Nevada desert to see one of the world’s biggest AI data center buildouts. It’s so big it was hard to wrap my mind around.
Downriver is the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe and the data centers’ water and power consumption could put their land at risk

Today it's been changed to:

I see a lot of polite debate about immigration to the UK that completely ignores the fact that some folks aren't upset about immigration levels today. No, they're furious about the existence of ethnic minority Brits.

How can she possibly make herself heroic in this? Have we lost all ability to address our choices and take any responsibility or interrogate and recalibrate on those choices and decisions? Are we lost in a megawatty cloud of narcissistic delusion where a half baked confessional Selfie saves mankind?

If this is how little, people are willing to inconvenience themselves … you can’t be arsed to find an alternative?
You can tweet to the moon and back about righteousness but you are ultimately funding AI drones that are killing people. We can absolutely choose in this circumstance.
How are so many still using that shameful, nameless music streaming app when we know where the money goes ….to fund AI kill drones and we know how problematic the treatment of musicians is?
C’mon. Get a grip.

A curse upon whichever truck destroyed this beautiful tree branch. I know the birds who live and play in this mossy tree And you have gone and wrecked their habitat. You left evidence exactly where you hit the branch. This was wanton destruction. Shame!
