The Midwest Book Review, which is a huuuge review site for libraries and academic institutions, just reviewed the first three books of my series. And they loved them!

Text of the review from the Midwest Book Review. They stated: "Original, deftly crafted, and a fun read from start to finish, the 'A Jump in Time' [series] . . . is especially and unreservedly recommended for the personal reading lists of all dedicated action/adventure time travel science fiction fans and community/public library Science Fiction & Fantasy collections."

My favourite Gordon Lightfoot song.

Well, this was the 70s. So maybe Stollen packing has improved in the last 50 years.

For people who like slow burn romances, my series is a REALLY slow burn. 😀

I am defintely glad that I found all the wonderful people in the #TimeTravelAuthors group. And I was honoured that one of my stories was chosen for the second anthology.

Dan
My top three favourite people are Sam, followed closely by Sam, and then . . . Sam.

Sam
Favourite person? Uh . . . Dan, I guess. But don't read anything into that--we're just friends. And with the way he keeps messing up while time jumping, he won't be around for long.

If I'm ever in Germany again, during Christmas time, and someone offers me a nice piece of Stollen that doesn't look like it was mummified along with Ramses III, then maybe I'll try a piece. Other than that. Nope. I'll pass.

And now I know where exactly in Norway the Peace Prize is awarded. 😃
andrewvargaauthor.bsky.social
I'm ashamed to admit that only today did I find out that Norway awards the Nobel Peace Prize, while Sweden awards all the other Nobel prizes.

For all my life I had thought that Sweden did them all.

If the end of the postal strike means getting Stollen, then I hope it lasts forever. 😅

(I seriously notice no difference between having a postal strike and not having one. All my bills come by email, and I can't think of the last piece of normal mail I received.)

Scam alert: there's an IngramSpark impersonator at ingramsparkbookpublishers dot com. Part of a wave of publishing/ghostwriting scams from Pakistan that hijack authors looking to self-publish--they often "borrow" well-known publisher names but this one also "borrows" the real IngramSpark's logo
Screenshot of IngramSpark impersonator's contact form, with chat window where scammer sales rep "Travis Clark" claims that "We are Ingram Spark's hands-on services department. You will be able to find our information here: https://www.ingramsparkbookpublishers.com/

Based on some other comments I've read, it seems that Bsky's search is broken today.

Fine with me. Chrome browser on a desktop.

I think I'm OK with not having Stollen again in my lifetime. 😊

Which team are you cheering on?

Don't worry. My Blue Jays will take care of the annoying pest that your Red Sox couldn't handle.

Yup. Everyone can relate to having at least one bad relative.

My Oma used to send us packages from Germany every Christmas. It was dry Stollen with awful candied fruits. I can't remember if she made it herself or bought it. I just remember I never liked it. She lived in Oberhausen, so maybe it was the local variant.
