It’s super fun to find ourselves hoping for severe economic doom rained down upon us so our president doesn’t invade a European country, thus risking a NATO retaliation — or worse, risking no NATO retaliation, which would in turn encourage Russia to invade more countries and maybe start WWIII.

I hate that this is happening but it’s so cool to see a city unite against a common threat with smart little things like this.
Also my go-to local restaurants and shops are keeping their doors locked and letting legit customers in as they come. Most have observers posted up. There was armed security guarding the locked door at Culver’s the other day who checked the sight lines before letting me out with my Butterburger.

We did this quite a lot when I was in high school. At the time I lived on a mountain with a one screen theater, so if you wanted to see anything weird like THE FULL MONTH we had to drive at least an hour away. But that was the 90s and the alternative was waiting for VHS. I dunno, maybe he’s right.
