how would the confederate army get to europe

Well. Thucydides defined Peace as a "form of order". Inherently fragile and maintained through a balance of strength between those who would otherwise wage war. And he stressed that it is always temporary. That peace is little more than a short pause between man's natural state of war.
What is even peace, I wonder.

We are so going back to XIX century if we don't get EU into proper gear...

People who derided the international order as a fiction, will soon come to miss that fiction.

Britain, France, and Russia, should all lose their permanent U.N security council seats. Replaced by a permanent seat for the E.U on the security council. Also, South Africa, Algeria, Brazil, and India, should be given permanent seats on the security council.

That's how I would change it.

At least we may get a chance to restructure the U.N after this freak show is over. The U.N security council definitely needs to be remade for one.

Here is a little Quiz for you.

One of these countries boiled a journalist alive in a farm vat.
One shot a journalist on the streets
One sawed a journalist into bits with a bonesaw
One hijacked a plane to arrest & torture a journalist into a false confession of treason.

Which is which?

I'm kind weirdly proud of never having owned a car. In the Netherlands it's enough to have a bike and public transport, and even in Berlin that combo works well. Cars just seem like a burden when you live in a city.

People always tell me I am weird when I say this, but I never liked cars. I always preferred travel by train in particular. Cars make me feel like I am stuck in some coffin. I had some great times on trains with friends.
Somehow I lived car free my whole life. At some point my dad had to sell his and we never hat the excess money to buy a new one. Getting the driving license was hard. But since carsharing got commonplace I am not even thinking about getting a car.

I can get everywhere I want. ❤️

The only reason where I can understand you have a car is if you have a family with small children, because then things get a lot easier.

Other than that a good cargo bike can do wonders in the city.

The instability of the past half a century has robbed the Arab world of its traditional centres of progress. Hoping and praying that someday things will improve!

I think it will be good for the Middle East when it's centres of culture, learning, ideas, and politics, are Damascus, Cairo, and Baghdad again. Instead of Riyadh, Doha, and Dubai.

I don't even own a car. lol. I live in a big city, I believe cars should be banned in cities, and since I live by what I preach, I do not own a car. I only use public transport to get around.
There are deeply-rooted characteristics of the identities offended by the renewable transition that include a strange pride of black smoke, soot, and used motor oil.

I've done most of my vehicles' regular maintenance (time permitting), and owning an EV now is just way better.

Wind will be Europe's renewables. We have the North Sea. Denmark is the world leader in the technology.
Wind turbines at $1000 a turn would be better financial decision

It's going to get really fucking ugly once the Saudis run out of money and people to sell their oil to. The capacity to produce enough food for 5 million people, in a country of 36 million. Not much of an economy. Lots of weapons. Lots of grudges. Saudi Arabia will be the next Congo.
